I think Soccer (hate calling it that) is by far and away the most popular since, excluding north America (and some isolated paces) it is played globally and is the main sport in most countries. It has about 3.5 billion fans worldwide with cricket second at about 3 billion. Hockey has 2 nillion (field) Baseball 500 million. Gridiron 410 million basketnall barely 400 million. The problem baseball, gridiron and basketball have is that they are almost exclusive to America and it is only one country the rest are popular in whole continents.
In what way? In the Americas yes but outside of that I would say rounders and cricket are the major bat and ball sports. I think Japan is the main none american country to play.
I would think... Basketball ... Mostly everyone in my school plays it at recess.. Even the lil kids.. (and sometimes the ball hits there heads.. Lol) o.O
the most world played sport is soccer all of europe plays it most part of south america and most of north amreica but in europe they call it foot ball it makes more seince becuz u play only with ur feet american football the only time u kick it is puntting and the kick off
internationally, it is soccer, (Mexico!) but in the US it would have to depend on the seasons, when its football season, its football, when its basketball season its basketball.
Soccer. There's a soccer world cup, but no rugby world cup. =] Also, the British brought soccer along with them when they colonized countries, leading to these countries being introduced to the sport.
There is a rugby world cup. It was held last year in France. South Africa beat England in the final.
But yes I would say football, or as most Americans call it, soccer. It's the world's international language.
first of all im going to call it football not soccer because you use your feet and the ball doesnt even touch your hands unless its a throw in hense the name FOOTBALL. American football is gridiron football. football is a hugley international game and has been around for longer. If you are an american who hates people calling soccer football then wikipedia football and see which one comes up?
