IN America these two things are the the leading topics in the industry. Nudity however is taken more as a bad think and graphic violence not so much, do you think this is right
Well, they both lead to an "R" rating. I don't see what's wrong with nudity though. We all see it eventually, but graphic violence not so much, which is confusing.
People need to get over nudity. Americans act like being naked is such a horrible and disgusting thing. I lived with a female last year, and we saw each other naked several times. Did we freak out? Did we immediately start having sex? Did we run to the sink to wash our eyes out? Did we run away from each other from embarrassment? Of course not. We shrugged our shoulders and continued on with life. We've both seen the human body before. People make such a huge issue out of the human body.
I don't understand why sex is such a taboo thing. It's not really all its cracked up to be. Yes, it's fun. But why has it become a demonized act? It's like we are supposed to feel dirty when we see someone else naked. The people in power really need to change their mind-set on sex and nudity. It's really not a big deal.
It's US culture. The church for instance has influenced a lot and US culture is partly a result of Christian morality. Kids are raised without information regarding sex and that affects their perceptions of it in later life.
As for violence being glorified, I don't think it's a particularly new phenomenon. Little boys all over the world throughout history have dreamed of being soldiers when they were young. It's just that now companies have the means to exploit that sentiment more effectively through tv, video games etc.
Maybe you guys should form a nudity movement. But forget that I suggested that >_>
What I find somewhat amusing (in a non-derisory way), is that in the course of my clinical practice, we come to approach nudity within our jobs in such a matter of fact manner because, well, we're required to demand it on a daily basis ("Could you please remove your shirt so I can listen to your heart?" "Could you remove your pants so I can check on this hernia?" "You said you found a lump in your breast, do you mind if I examine them more closely?" "In order to assess the state of your prostate, I'm going to need to perform a rectal examination." etc. etc. etc.)
However, it is because of the environment we are in that we are instead required to pay continuing mindfulness to this nudity because, often, it really isn't nudity so much as a nakedness. People exposing their frailties and uncertainties to us. Thus we are obligated to act in such a manner that preserves dignity as best we can, despite the fact my job is something that ultimately negates it while celebrating it.
If there is any issue with nudity that has to be considered, it would be this. Call me opiniated but I reckon any hangup not relevant to this is piffle.

An interesting comment mainly because it is so versatile. I might start an exploration of the implications of this later...you could talk about the other dimensions considered in such issues as orientation, fetishes and paraphilias, theories of power dynamics in rape...
I can think of horror movies that could be glorious and yet they look constrained by someone looking over the producers shoulder and tutting at the scenes. If your gonna make a movie with violence in do it properly. If you wanna make an 18 make it proerly 18 don;t hold back just because of a few disaproving parents or ministers etc.
Well lets think. Most of Ag users (MOST) are boys/men. MOST of us like both
I think that this is true in general but violence does not appeal to me. Virtual violence, that is, in video games is something different. I fought a lot when I was a kid and there is nothing more sickening to me now then the sound and feeling of my fist cracking on somebodies jaw. It is just deplorable, as intelligent beings capable of somewhat intelligent and reasonable communication, I hope that most conflicts can be resolved through communication.
But nudity is great, artistically, sexually whatever, being naked is freeing and awesome. Anyone else find it freeing to walk around the house naked...I mean I live with my lady so it is easier but, hasn't anyone just stripped down when the parents were gone and chilled?
i go with violence seeing someone getting killed is better then seeing someone naked. i just think nudity is digustsing.... well i'm just 11 if that helps and i guess im sounding immature O:
