Emulators are copies of game from consoles like the N64, but you use them on your computer. You download them as a file and play them. WEll realy the games are ROMS, and the program you use to play them is the emulator. But yah, they are older console/handheld games you can play on your computer.
True, ok thanks. Ive had emulators for quite awhile and was wondering because I saw a site with DS emulators which was realy wierd, and that's what got me thinking.
i don't think that they are illegal cause they would get shut down or something bad. and i have some emulators on my computer and it sure doen't seem illegal. and if they were illegal shouldn't they come with some kind of warning before you download them.
I don't think they're illegal since I haven't heard of anybody getting fined or arrested for using them. I haven't heard anything about them being illegal.
Spammers again... No, emulators aren't illegal, depending on where and who you get them from. You also have to be careful as to which games you download. I've gotten some nasty viruses from a few.
Anyway, emulators themselves are not illegal. The use of emulators to play copyrighted games is illegal. In my opinion the 24 hour disclaimer, is pretty much bogus.

I haven't gotten any nasty viruses from emulators.
No i think u got it wrong its for certain old school games that get reused as new games on the computer, but they suck!! But natrally there perfectly legal if its classified as an old school game.
