Anyway, porn, i admit to watching it sometimes and im sure a lot of others do too, maybe not to play with themselves, just too watch maybe lesbians doing it ot something i dont know. So do you think its a good thing or bad thing? Do you think people should watch it at an earlier age? have you ever watched it and what do you think? you dont have to answer any of these questions they are just guidelines if you have nothing to post

Why does everything turn into a religious argument? Oh that's right, because you people look to the church to tell you how to live your life.

This is such a bad post, porn is bad. It becomes an addiction and it is hard to break. No chick wants to date a porn junkie. People lose their jobs because of porn, and it can drive a person into something realy bad.

I think that the people who have talked about addiction to porn have some reasonably valid points. It used to be, before the advent of the internet, that porn was expensive and it took some possible humiliation, i.e., going into a store to buy it. Now people can look at beautiful people doing lewd things at the drop of a hat. I think that this can overload a persons psyche, and make them have unrealistic expectations of things. Porn isn't inherently bad or good, as it turns out it is up to how an individual reacts to it that makes it bad or good. Young people should definitely be shielded from it, as, the sexual mind is a fragile thing, who knows what sort of weirdness can be derived from a malleable young persons mind when it is overexposed to sex. Also, isn't anyone interested in the mystery of things anymore? I mean doesn't anyone want to find out with someone, instead of thinking about what they should do because they have watched porn? If any physical interaction is going to happen between a young person and their significant other, would you want to find that stuff out with someone who was as green as you? I don't know...I just don't know anymore with kids these days.

Also, I'm not making generalizations about the kids on this website because as it would seem, a fair amount have the correct points of views on things of this nature.

Well, pornography is a good and bad thing. It all depends what side you are on.

[i]If you are on the Religious side.

If you are on this side, then you believe that pornography is a bad thing. That is because in the bible it says so. It says "If a man looks on a woman to lust after her, he has committed adultery with her already in his heart (Mt 5.28). So, God is saying that pornography is a bad thing.

If you are on the Normal Society Side.

If you are on the Normal Society Side, then you believe that pornography is a good way to pleasure yourself. You think that if you pleasure yourself, you will feel good, which you do. Some people say that it is a great thing but others think it is a waste of time. That is why this side says pornography is good.

My side.

I believe it is bad because it is a sin.

Sin just means 'without, to miss.' And also, support your opinion.

That was petty & ignorant. Slinging insults already? You've only been here for two posts and you're already frustrated. I've read the bible. I don't think the evidence or 'roof' for the existence of god (christian or otherwise) is accurate or reliable so I don't follow the teachings of that work of... fiction. So if there's no god, what other arguments do you have against pornography?

I bet next your going to say the bible was written by man so how could it possibly possess any sense of if their is a god huh?

I'm sorry, but is it really a valid argument to say. "THE BIBLE SAY IT BAD SO IT BE BAD RAWR RAWR SIN SIN SIN" I have read the bible, and I have hung around with a lot of religious people, whenever they have no other way to prove a valid point they just start talking about the bible and blabbering on about sin.

I've been drawing pornographic drawings since I was 16 and been exposed to various kinds of porn since I was 14 or 15. I'm still nowhere close to addicted to porn (though my head is reasonably filled up with sexually related thoughts, but that is not an addiction, that's just a result).

Your religion is never a valid argument when you are discussing with someone of different beliefs. It is a valid reason for you to think in a certain way if you really are that religious, but do not apply your religiously based views into an argument where not everyone is of your religion. It leads nowhere. (Same with evolutionists trying to discuss wit creationists... It's just no good.)

I do not think pornography is neither good nor bad. It exists. It entertains some, it disgusts some. It ruins someone's lives, it earns someone a fortune. It has its good sides and its bad sides, and the world is not black and white.

I don't believe in the concept that there is good and there is evil, btw. Everything can be viewed in a different light, and very very few things are that simple.

The world is a very gray place. I have to say that zoph is completely right, there are fine lines of where porn can be seen in one way and completely different in other ways. Say you are a divorcee (a person divorced), wouldn't you resort to porn again to make your self go through the night? on the other hand porn might have been the divorcing factor.

But sometimes men don't resort to porn after a divorce. They usually go to clubs and party like a rockstar, get drunk, and then have sexual intercourse with a female. But on the other hand, the X-wife might take the computer said in the divorce papers. So, in that case, you would not be able to watch porn.

I was making an example of how it could be good and bad.

Sins are bad, don't sin, it's a sin
Anyway, porn really depends on your morals. Some base their morals on their religion, some don't. I find it wrong because it doesn't show respect towards the body, and it makes some people think of women (or men) as simply objects of pleasure. It might not do that to all, but it is very easily portrayed in society that sex is all that truly matters in life. Anyway, that's my opinion only, and when discussing right or wrong, it's usually just opinionated. It could go both ways, like others have said on here.
