I get the feeling that the response here will differ from other forums due to the demographics. I see a lot of jokes from most of you about how the age of people you'd be interested in would qualify as "minors" because most of you are minors yourself!

That aside:

Finally, shedding light on madness!

I think that loud and clear shows you my views, but essentially I think the cases in this article highlight the inadequacy of the legal system and the model it currently follows in the face of new technology and modes of communication as well as dynamics. I can only hope that it will catch up at some point.

One other thing: please, no jokes about the speaker's name!

I lol'd.

Cumming also argued that such online activities are safer than traditional sexual games because there is no immediate physical contact and thus are less likely to lead to pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases

Less likely? More like impossible no?

I'd also like to say that, what the hell kind of extreme version of spin the bottle are kids playing nowadays to transmit STDs?

More like what was he thinking taking up that argument with that last name.

I 15145610215161483051232153105146146% agree. I don't see how you can be a sex offender for violating... Yourself. It sems ridiculous. Especially considering it's okay for people over 16 to have sex in Australia. It's way too inconsistant.

The government pretty much has a limited perspective on this...They'll probably twist and turn the meanings to frame you, the offender and the victim.

Though I probably won't encourage such activities. Might lead to embarrassing social incidents where your photos are splashed all over the place. However it still is a considerably better activity then the traditional sexual activities hot-blooded youths tend to take part in...

I find sexting to be no big deal really. I can see the potential for predators to stalk younger people through the use of sexting and i can also see it as a somewhat safer alternative, but I myself am not a minor and haven't participated in sexting. It just seems like the latest trend of an ever increasng tchnological world. Besides having the real thing as opposed to pictures on a cellphone is a 1000 times better anyway...

Fun can come from many other sources....

It's a fad. Such novelties will dissipate into the wind, along with blogging, twittering and...Neopets.

This is what i have been wondering for a while...minors seeing each other naked, how is that bad? I mean, if they want 13 year old kids can start sending nude pics to/banging 24 yr. olds.

Lol, there was a girl at my school who that happened to. Someone uploaded the pics onto their computer, printed them out, and left them on her dad's desk. I overheard the argument between them when I was in the locker room (her dad is the P.E. teacher). She goes "YOU'RE NOT EVEN MY REAL DAD, WHY DO YOU CARE!?"

I very much hope you're being sarcastic..Because if not, you need a serious look into mental readjustment and maybe a glance at the legal system. Some of the stuff I hear you say on the sex-related threads disturbs me, and I can never tell if you're serious or of if you're joking.

I don't know what some of these games are.
Seriously, what's "doctor"?
Or "Spin-the-bottle"?
Or "Strip Poker"?
I'm being honest, I don't get the concept of any of these.

Oh man, Firefly, you're showing your grey hairs too?

Kids of age 12-13 these days are getting to third base, man. Totally.

Playing doctor, a formerly popular kid's roleplay activity which generally symbolises curiosity about bodies.

Or "Spin-the-bottle"?

Sit in a circle (mixed company unless you don't swing that way, haha). Have a bottle in the middle and take turns spinning it. Whoever it points to, you have to kiss or else pay some money. Seems to have been superceded by sexting.

Or "Strip Poker"?

Play any kind of poker (5 card stud is the quickest, but Texas Hold'em is more popular these days). The loser of each round doesn't lose money, but instead has to take of an article of clothing. The game does not stop until at least one person is completely naked.

I'm being honest, I don't get the concept of any of these.

I'm not surprised, they're the kind of activities you'd find either in the adult bedroom or 90s college frat dorm etc. etc.

My main issue with sexting is that it's unregulated activity and does constitute some risk, but hey, doesn't everything?

Just that sexting constitutes alot more risks than normal. Child molesters...rapists...blackmailers....anything can stem from what some may perceive as a fun and harmless little activity.

I'm not sure that balckmail is valid unless all forms of amature pornography are made illegal. I mean, unless it's your job most people wouldn't want photos or videos like that falling into the wrong hands.

But I still think "sexting" is safer than normal sex. I mean, molestation, rape, pregnancy, stds etc are either forms of, or come from real sex. So I don't think there is anyway of looking at it where "sexting" is more dangerous than real sex.

You'll be suprised that kids these days still do those things...I played a more toned-down version where the person had to do a dare, not kiss.

Yes siree, the world does have more than it's fair share of suprises.

Oh the shame! And I'm not even out of my teens.

Yea, sadly it's true, but I wouldn't have thought they'd do it during a game of spin the bottle. With others watching and all. A little decorum please?
