I do not believe in any religion because it is just impossible what religion tells us. If you have a different meaning please tell me!

I don't have a problem with Any religion, but I don't love religions for the simple reason that thousands of horrendous crimes have been done by fanatics which think that someone told them to do them .

That this religion was causing people in the Middle east to act so violent.

Religion in general seems to cause people to act violent. It just so happens that over there they take it a bit more seriously than those of us in Western countries.

Now with the happiness part, it really does happen.

I believe that's just a psychology thing though. The only reason, in my opinion, that people become happier is because they no longer feel like they have to carry the burden of all their problems. They've convinced themselves that there is some unseen being that will solve it for them, so they stop worrying. You can do that without religion though. As for getting better grades and such, if you're not worrying about a million things anymore you will become more confident, try harder, all that.

Its also sad that people frown upon our religion because of the things that the people of the religion do.

That is true. It seems as though every religion has its stereotypes though.

Thanks for sharing your opinions and experience though. Personally I'm Empirical Agnostic (meaning that I'm waiting for evidence as to whether or not there is a God) but I enjoy hearing about other relgiions. I think I waver a bit towards the Atheist side at times, but I'm still open to ideas.

True for the people who take it to the extreme and modify the religion. There in the middle east, i think that it is their own selves that are causing the problem. They are mad so they take the religion that they grown up with and changed it so they can do their own thing. But away from that, i think religion does in fact cause violence, but these people who do kill because of religion are in fact (in my mind) terrible people. Also, there might be a bad religion that (idk) provokes you to kill. That will be the negative part of religion. I believe that people should not kill unless it is for defensive purposes or just to save someone. I mean, religion, Islam in my case in which i think that it is the true religion, doesnt tell you to go bomb yourself and kill innocent civilians, but to defend yourself when you are being attacked or you homeland is being taken over. In some cases you can say that religion is bad and sometimes its good. But for me, islam is the only religion that is true for me and when followed it correctly, you will see the beauty of it.

Well i do believe that its a psychological thing. I believe that God is giving us hope, but not doing stuff for us. He actually tells us to never stop worrying till the day we inevitably die and that we will have to solve all the burdens god bestowed on us unless he wills it. I mean, not only does praying make me happy, it is also the miracles displayed in which no one realizes. Ever breathe you take, the blood that flows through your veins, all the organs in your body was not created for an incident, but for a purpose for us to live by gods word. Also, nature also shows the miracles. The rivers and ocean, the trees, miracles of birth, animals ways, its just too much to explain!

I dont know about all of you guys but cant you see what religion does do? It actually prevents people from fighting, the ones who TRULEY believe in their religion that DOESNT provoke fighting. Also, charities will be funded for the poor. More people are humble. And for me, God will be watching over them and (if he wills) protect them from evil.

I surely see stuff differently from you guys. But REALLY do hope you guys are guided just to see the beauty, More particularly, islam. (which means peace)

Thanks Green12324 for the reply i barely get those.

I believe in Christianity because I've prayed to God and He has answered my prayers through miracles. He is the one and only God and He loves everyone even if you do not love Him. He will always be there for you no matter what situation you are in. If you are interested in Christianity, then feel free to ask me questions.

I'm an atheist. Last year, I actually tried to become religious because if you think about it, it would be nice to have some faith to believe in. It would be great to know you go to a good place when you die. Then I came back to the facts, and I'm still atheist.

also kielzanie, you said "I dont know about all of you guys but cant you see what religion does do? It actually prevents people from fighting..." There were many instances in which religion provoked violence because certain humans want everyone to be like them, so they harm people that do not worship their religion. (take Hitler for example)

Religion causes A lot of wars...

WWII, the Crusades... there are many more.

That is precisely why I stick to being Agnostic.

Sorry what is Agnostic? And i believe in Christianity because Christianity teaches love, compassion, peace, and many others. God is a GOD of love, he loves us no matter what we do, He will always forgive us if we ask to be forgiven.

@partayperson

I said that in some instances religion does provoke violence when it is misinterpritated (srry for spelling). Of coarse it does and there will be extremist that call themselves part of a religion when they relly dont follow it. But im just saying that why wont u see all the good things about religion?

I am a scientologist, or an atheist, I believe that we were created by what science tells us, the Big Bang, evolution and what not. The idea (to me) that a woman was created from a man by using his rib is completely idiotic.
