How is this different from D-Day RPG?
Some of you may have participated in my previous WWII era RPG, D-Day. The essentials will remain the same, but I have changed several things.
1. There will always be one choice out of four or five in which you die or get wounded. If you happen to choose that one, don't worry, I'll allow you to go back to your last position a total of 3 times. After that, it's game over. War is hell, and people die. I have to say that some of you chose some fatal mistakes in the last one, but I let them slide. Not anymore. 2. In this RPG you will have an inventory to manage with slots. The Pack Mule perk gives you 8 slots; if you don't have it, then you have 4. To put it into perspective, a handgun or grenade is one slot, and a rifle or submachine gun is 2. 3. You will also have ammo to worry about. China in this time period did not have an economy to speak of, so your guns and ammo are basically what you can salvage. Thankfully, ammo does not count towards your inventory. 4. Remember that you are not limited to the choices I give you. There will almost always be an answer marked "Other," where you can do something different or even do two actions I've given you, provided they don't contradict. Surprise me with your tactical skill! If you are especially creative, you may be rewarded with a new weapon or even a perk.
Brave the enemy's fire! March on! Brave the enemy's fire! March on! March on! March on! On!
The soldiers have just finished singing the last refrains of the revolutionary tune, and disperse to perform their battle orders. It is August 1940, Northern China. The three of you are but boys who have only barely managed to escape the ravaging hordes of imperialist troops.
Upon rumors of the evils of the KMT, how they kidnapped men and boys and conscripted them into their army, the three of you joined the Red Army of the Communist Party of China. It's at this time the three of you will experience your baptism by fire in an attack on a KMT outpost.
Weapons and ammo are very low, so as a result, each of you are given a large sword (2 slots) with which to assault the outpost. There are four main outposts to be taken. Which assault will you join?
A) The river outpost, located in a defensible marsh. Several machine gun nests, but plenty of vegetation to take cover in. B) The hill outpost, located at the top of the hill. The forest underneath will offer cover, but towards the top it has been cleared. Consists of a single bunker and gun emplacement. C) The tower outpost, located in a forest clearing. The tower gives great visibility to the enemy, and is defended by several machine guns. D) The village, which the enemy has occupied.
Name: Sheng Age: 18 Status: Fine Inventory: Large Sword (2 slots) Ammo: None Perk(s): Will to Live Lives: 3
I'll do option A, but as my fellow soldiers are assaulting the base I will take cover in the grass and craw closer into their base and assault them when they're not paying attention.
Malao and Blade, you guys also choose from the previous answer choice and get a Large Sword.

One of the men in the party, seeing you with your big sword, has mercy on you and gives you a grenade to better attack the nest. As guerillas, you approach the outpost hidden in the reeds. Just as you and your comrades approach, one of them trips and splashes, alerting the guards, who promptly mow down half the squad. You are untouched. Their weapons have dropped, consisting of Japanese Arisaka 38 Rifles (2 slots) and 40 rifle ammo.
A) Pitch a grenade at the nearest machine gun nest. B) Attempt a frontal attack on the nest. C) Grab the rifles and ammo and shoot the machine gunners down. D) Other
