Today North Korea sent a message to the US, in the form of seven ballistic missiles. Obviously, they didn't hit anything, but it is still going to increase tension between the UN and North Korea.
What I'm wondering though, is why in the world they would launch missiles that they know aren't going to get close to the US. Also, North Korea isn't exactly the largest country, and if the US was to go to war with them it would be over very quickly. North Korea wouldn't be able to match the size of the army, and our own nuclear weapons could wipe them off the map if we chose to use them.
How do you feel about the situation? Will the US once again be police of the world, or will we for once make the UN deal with this on their own? Is Kim Jong Il just stupid, or is there a reason he spends millions of dollars to develop missiles, then sends them shooting into the ocean?
dude, they would take the west coast and kick our ***, 'til the citizins rally together. also, everyother nation pretty much hates americans because we meddle too much in there affairs.
Sure, the United States has received a lot of negativity in spite of obvious events. Yet, the US still has a lot of allies and, they wouldn't be happy if the US was invaded.
Also, the Americans could easily fight off the North Koreans. Their technology is inferior and they are far away. They are better off invading a closer country. I don't think they are foolish enough to out of the blue, invade the United States.
Did anyone know that Kim Jong Il claims to be a communist but wears sun glasses that cost somewhere like $5,000? Hardly a communist that owns up to his word!

its a common phenomenom in communist countries. they claim that all people are equal. but they are always some people who are more equal than others.(i hope this common phrase makes any sense in english)

That's true. In all the communist countries that have been in existence, not everyone was living in an equal, utopian society. Many communist countries are far from being utopian societies of equality.
If strategy, tactics and technology is concerned, I can safely say that North Korea is outmatched somehow. Let's also not forget that is North Korea finds itself in war, it will be faced by more than one country, so though NK has a lot of soldiers, it will also be facing a lot of soldiers.
We have so many more long range missiles than them that its a laughing matter. They want to play dirty, we'll launch missiles at them until my kids will be arguing over whether or not North Korea ever existed.

His country has a totalitarian government. Communism often changes into that, and they never bother to acknowledge the change.
yeah lets put ourselves on the same level as cruel and unrightful tyrannys. that is how we make the world a better place
So launching missles is putting us on their level? If the situation we are talking about is war then all is fair. If they want to launch missles we sure as hell are too. Or do you think that we should sacrifice some soldiers to let them have the upper-hand. No. We stop them fast and quick.
yeah and we kill every innocent citizen in that country with them. and exactly the method a dictator country would chose
If they want to kill our innocent civilians then they shall suffer that fate. It was their choice to go to war after all. (If we're still talking about that situation.)
then i wonder why it isnt common to use this solution n armed conflicts anymore? it would have made a lot of wars so much easier. maybe you should have a look at the geneva conventions.
The Geneva Conventions comprise rules that apply in times of armed conflict and seek to protect people who are not or are no longer taking part in hostilities, for example:
* wounded or sick fighters * prisoners of war * civilians * medical and religious personnel source:wikipedia
