This is a remake, since the last 'Flying Tigers' was filled with 5 pages of post unrelated to the content of the game. The SAME PEOPLE will have to register AGAIN. I will NOT accept any players other than those who signed up in the previous thread. __________ The sequel to 'Flyboys: The Pacific' __________ Three of the Five spots are reserved by Parsat, Zlith, and Afroninja. The other Two spots will serve on a first come, first serve basis. __________ Flying Tigers, the story of Claire Chennault and His American Voulunteers, 1941-1942. Enjoy.
American Volunteer Group(AVG) Story:
You left for China because of three things: Better pay, Easy pickins', and the Scenery. Little did you know that in 6 months, you would be fighting Tojo as they attempted to take over China, and reach hands with Nazi Germany in the Middle East, to make their diplomatic affair physical. The only thing that stands between Tojo taking over China, India, and making it to the Middle East are a handful of pilots, and their Curtiss P-40 Tomahawks.
Chinese Air Force (CAF) Story:
The Generalissimo (Chaing Kai-Shek) built up an airforce to prevent Tojo from gaining anymore ground in China. The Republic Lancer P43 Fighter Plane became the standard airplane of the CAF. As Tojo gained more and more ground, the CAF lost more and more of its planes. You become on of the last pilots in the CAF to help push the Japs back into the sea.
Royal Air Force (RAF) Story:
After the Disaterous Retreat across Burma by the British Army, your the last RAF squadron left in Burma. Flying the Hurricane Mk.IIb, your the last line for the British in Burma. Without you, the AVG and the CAF will be hard pressed by the Japs. __________ Registration
Name: (simple enough, I hope) Age: (19-36[based on actual ages of AVG]) Force: (AVG, CAF, or RAF) Rank: Pilot (this will increase with kills) Side Arm: Colt 45 (allows you to continue fighting if yu crash, land, etc) Plane: (see above story) Lvl: 1 0/20 XP HP: 20/20 Armor: (see below) Fuel: (you have 7 points to spend on armor and speed. more armor means you take less damage, but can stay up less. More fuel means your faster and can stay up longer, but take more damage) Perks: (pick one, see below) Plane Weapons: 50 cal MGs (4)(more weapons can be bought upon leveling up, same with stronger, more of...) Perks: For now, you can only pick one perk. More perks will be availible later on. __________ Perks:
Self-sealing Fuel tanks: Your fuel tanks will seal up if they are hit. Useful if you reley on fuel, rather than armor.
Reflector-Sight: Your equipped with this better sight, rather than the standard 'tube' sight from WWI.
Cannible Mechanics: Your Mechanics will repair your plane faster, taking needed parts from other planes.(the mechanics wont eat you either :P)
Exhaust Covers: Your exhaust pipes have a cover, making you harder to spot, especially at night.
Long Patrol: Your plane is more economical, so you can travel further on the same amount of gas.
Mixed rounds: Your ammo is upgraded from standard rounds (1 tracer, 4 normal rounds) to the improved 'mixed rounds' (1 tracer, 1 incendiary, 3 normal rounds) that does more damage
Umbrella insurance: Your parrachute comes with a spare parachute, incase the first one fails. Useful if you take alot of chances...or are stupid
Porcupine Formation: You know how to better attack Jap bombers when they move into the infamous 'Porcupine Formation __________ How is 'Flying Tigers' Differnt from 'The Pacific'?
1. There will always be one choice out of four or five in which you die or get wounded. If you happen to choose that one, don't worry, I'll give you the option to parachute out a total of 3 times. After that, it's game over. War is hell, and people die. I have to say that some of you chose some fatal mistakes in the last one *looks at TSL3*, but I let them slide. Not anymore.
2. You may have noticed the Armor/Fuel tabs. These can be your best friend, or your worst enemy. More fuel means you can out run the enemy in dire situations, but more armor means you can take less damage. Play to your strengths, because the enemy plays to your weaknesses.
3. You can be killed when your not in a plane. You may have noticed the 'sidearm' tab. This means that you can still fight when your not in a plane. You may be attacked by a wild animal, or be captured by angry chinese farmers when your plane goes down.
4. Remember that you are not limited to the choices I give you. There will almost always be an answer marked "Other," where you can do something different or even do two actions I've given you, provided they don't contradict. Surprise me with your tactical skill! If you are especially creative, you may be rewarded with a new weapon or even a perk. __________ Random fact that mostly pertains to the tread, but actually does not relate in anyway to this, or anyother, thread.
Pilots used to joke about the chinese writing on the parachuts, saying that the chinese writing translated to: 'Please return this parachute to the factory if it fails to open'. The pilots aptly named it 'Umbrella Insurance'. __________ Special Thanks To:
TSL3: For making me realize that i was getting to soft on you guys, and that kamikazing the Soryu is considered stupid by most people.
Parsat: For mentioning the idea of making a fighter plane based RPG, for letting me use a bunch of his ideas, for giving me a bunch of ideas, and for making me relize that i was getting soft.
Daniel Ford: For writing the book "Flying Tigers" that gave me the idea to do this RPG
NOTE: Player(s) who deside to join the RAF may choose to equip themselves with the 'Webley Revolver' instead of the 'Colt .45' as a side arm. This does not effect gameplay, and is only for the sake of more accurate and historical effect to said game.
NOTE: Only the people who signed up for the first 'Flying Tigers' may sign up for this one.
It doesnt matter that much, but If you want, sure. I'll start probaly tomorrow, just bear with me guys. Wasnt feeling good yesterday, so i couldnt think of anything on the way to start it. And TSL, you forgot your special perk. It was 'Overkill'. That is, if you still want it. I've asked a mod to lock the other thread, but you can still look at it and just post the one you want when you update your stat sheet.

The last squadron has joined up with the AVG and CAF at Kyedaw Airforce Base. The purpose is to protect the Burma Road and destroy any Tojo Planes trying to make it to the citises beyond. At this point, your role is a defensive one. Maby later, you can start taking revenge on the Japs.
As you lie sleeping in your cot, the air raid siren comes on. Wheeeoooowww!. You leap out of bed with a start, get tangled in the mosquito netting, and manages to race outside. You see a lone search light searching the skys, and then it finanlly settles on a group of K-21s. An escort of Hayabusa's can be seen circling around in no particular order, and the burst of orange from flack litters the sky. As you and your group race out side, one of the men next to you is cut in half by shrapnel from a flak shell. Your group includes Patrick Doyle, a man from the heart of London. Justin Cole, a veteran from the USS Enterprise who left for better pay. Vise, a large guy who can barely fit into the cockpit of a Tomahawk. Wileix Silver, another veteran from the USS Yorktown, and later the USS Enterprise, who also left with Justin Cole. And finally, Ryan, a small, quiet man from Dover. You all share a barracks because the air field is packed with AVG and RAF pilots and planes. These men, along with a few others, Make up the AVG flight group 'The Adam and Eves', and 135 Squadron (RAF). As the Ki-27 from the 50th Sentai rore over the Airfield, you watch as black dots fall in the search light. You have little time to act, and need to seek shelter fast. Do you:
A) leap into the nearby ditch B) run back into your barracks C) run the the hangers and try and save a plane or two D) roll up into the fetal position on the ground.
(remember, one or more of these choices can get you killed!)
