Spiders; the creepy insects with eight legs.

Though there are over 40,000 different species of spiders, each is different in its each individual way. They may scare you, or even interest you, they are majestic creature and masters of architecture. With web designs ranging from funnels to flat sheets, to even none at all, they manage to capture prey with skill full stealth and agility.

Even though the thought of these creepy critters strikes fear in many, the title is undeserved. Spiders usually don't attack unless defending themselves, their young, or their territory. Even the deadliest: the Black Widow refrains from attacking unless being squished. However, some do attack at random, as I was a few hours ago.

I was bitten by what I believe was either a sac spider, or a housing crab spider. Right now I'm not very sure as it was brief and I squished it the second I felt it. However, the bite has developed into a bit of what would appear to be a mosquito bite, however that is just the early stages of the sac spiders bite. It is fairly itchy.

So I have come to ask you, what is your take on the title that spiders have been given, and what causes you to think this?

And thus, I leave you with this:

How cute. :3

what Cholo said is true Daddylong legs are the most venomous and they cant bite u due to the fact that their fangs are too small to break skin and inject the venom into your bloodstream.

Oh wow. I skimmed right over you saying that poisonarrow. Haha. Well, the most dangerous spider around where I live is the yellow sac spider, which is poisonous, but it usually only creates a volcano shape bit mark similar to that of a mosquito bite, except open on the top and takes weeks to heal. Though it varies to each person. I want to move somewhere with no insects... like Antarctica or something. xD

Daddy-long-legs are actually fun to play around with... Just to pick them up by their legs and toss them at people. Call me cruel, but I once fired 3 or 4 of them at my friend with a slingshot. >=3

Fortunately, I have never been in a situation where a spider has threatened me.

I might have arachnophobia. I am terrified by spiders.

actually my mistake was not in wheather or not they're spiders but in what a daddy-longleg is. i always considered granddaddylonglegs daddylonglegs, and iv never even seen a harvestman. also, you should know that neither of those are very venemous and they can in fact peirce your skin, but the effects are negligeble

The Cellar Spider is very venomous. It is just the fact that its venom does not affect humans. The Cellar Spiders venom is one the the most poisonous of spiders, but what makes them harmless is the fact that it doesn't harm us.
