Ok let me revise that lets say your weakest link in this group of 12 or so and food is running short. Are you saying you'd be ok with it if they killed you so that they could have your food?

Not exactly. I'm saying that the best should get thier food, and the ones that can't don't survive. It makes a stronger spiecies.

Ok let me revise this again. Say in the human race some of us devolp purple eyes or something and they are extra smart, strong and just better in every way. Would you say it would be ok if they wiped out us humans that arn't like them and still have blue ,brown and any other colored eyes so that they have more room to make houses and food and stuff?

That wont happen Strtegy, it will just be the purple eyed ones are more succesful and have a right to survive, we dont have to try to help along weak species, it is just fact that the stronger ones will survive, and we should not worry about the weaker ones.

Allow me to point out that the weaker species does not always become extinct - For example, chimpanzees are still around.

That is what I was saying Megemickel, the stronger should just leave them alone to their own devices. The weaker species shouldnt be wiped out, just left alone to try their best to survive.

You know what Strategy_Guy, I think I can't effectivley argue against you. I'll just say that I would want to be helped. Survival of the fittest is not them killing me, it's me not being fit enough to survive.

Wanting to be helped and being helped are two different things. I'm going to go off on a totally different tangent here in talking about survival of the fittest. Take, for example, real life. Fat, ugly guys don't get laid as much, do they? No. This is because they are not the strongest, most genetically desirable individuals, and therefore are often passed up for another mate. People see this as a shallow attitude, but it's SotF working at its finest.

To hojoko if you would want to be helped then that goes against your beleifs of SOTF becuase if you were to be helped then it wouldn't be survival of the fittest it would be the strong helps the weak to become strong.

To Mega: you did not answer my question of if you want to be helped.

Wanting to be helped is not being helped, so no, I am not going against survival of the fittest.

but survival of the fittest works in all ways. You asked why we cure, because doctors are smart enough to survive by curing. After all, they get paid.
