Now, as a suggestion from Randy, a fractal contest is upon you. You will have one week to create a fractalistic masterwork for me to judge. I'll crown a winner, do some honorable mentions, and all that jazz. There will be no themes or constraints - any fractal program, any scripts, anything. This contest is the canvas, your program the paint.

Now, let the fractacularness begin!

I used a program called fractal works to make the 3D fractal. I also used a self made color scheme incase you were wondering.

I would use Apophysis but there isn't an OSX version of it

That's not quite true. Some programs are made for Macs specifically.

There's probably some sort of equivalent, but that's not the same.

I think Apophysis, or it's disabled from the competition.
Alt did say that any program or script would be alright, so I'm not sure what you mean by disabled?

It said any fractal program.
I thought Apophysis was the only one.

A script is just a way to vary something in Apophysis~

Btw, Zoph, I think there is a mac version out now~

Google it if you want fractaltasticness.

Really though, it's only fair if you're allowed to use any program - the program doesn't matter as much as the end result.

I just found the Mac version of Apophysis, it's called ApoMac here's the link:

It's basically the same exact thing you just need an intel mac to run it.

There's many~~~

*sideglance at Mac version* I really need more memory on my comp... But once I have that, I'm gonna check that out. No space for installing any more right now. :<

It's called paint.net. It's a free art program. Quite simple to use and there are very helpful tutorials as well (:
