Everyone! I think I'm seeing that a lower standard of games apearing. Has anyone else noticed the lower ratings? I played the higher games too and they aren't as good as older games with simalar ratings. Anyone?
I'm seeing ups and downs, which are to be expected. Sometimes games get high ratings, sometimes games get low ratings. But I'm certainly not seeing any drop in quality. If anything, the games have gotten much, much better, looking back to when Armor Games was just starting out as Games of Gondor.
What I like about Flash games is the ingenuity resulting from a very small development team or even a single developer. When the developers don't have to live up to some company standard they aren't afraid to experiment. And I think Armor Games has even more originality than other Flash sites.
I don't put any trust on the ratings at all because sometimes people don't think before they rate. Most of the time I'll just try the game and see if it's good. The games that have come out recently... They are okay - kinda in the average level.
Some are good, some are bad. I'd have to say the opposite of you though, and that the quality of games is increasing. Most the games I've played recently were really good. Heavy Weapon especially.
Some things just can't be understood. From what I've been seeing spammers take the games as easy AP and just rate the games without playing them. Because of that, they rate the game whatever they want. So, the ratings drop, no matter the quality of the game. I mean, seriously. How is warlords: call to arms lower rated than what achilles used to be?
That's great and all but I'm talking about when it used to be one great game after another whereas now they are spread out and games like phage wars or age of war just aren't coming as frequently.
hmm... I can't speak much about armor games, but I do think there has been a recent surge in second-rate games across the net; this is primarily connected to the surge in flash games. Not to say that flash games are worse than java games (I can't really imagine gemcraft 0 being done in java), just that the minimum standard is lower with flash games. Freearcade, for instance-they used to have only java games, but nearly every game was great. Now they accept flash games, and have accepted lots of second-rate games.
on the other hand, there is definately an increase in the graphical quality and the game-play complexity overtime, but this is largely thanks to better processers to support more complex graphics.
The quality of games is increasing, especially with more advanced technology available. Flash 10 games are much better than Flash 4 games. Some games are bad and some are good, that is just normal.

I agree with better software more people are able to get their hands on it and make quality games. I'm not saying they are better but the average is better.

Not exactly I've played some really good old flash games like motherload. Better technology and software doesn't nessesarly mean all newer games are better.
I don't know. Lately I think on other websites the graphics have been going down along with how fun the games are. I think that there are more games coming out but less of them are becoming good games. I don't agree with the rating system because a lot of people just rate the game based on what other people said to get the points rather than play the game itself and see if they think it is good or not. In the past few months the games have gotten a little worse, but I do have to say that I believe one of the reasons the games are not improving is because most of the time the game concept has already been created so people might have already played the idea of the game on a different game. I mean there is only so much you can do with most fighting games, it gets pretty repetitive after awhile. But in all I think when people produce new games they have to think QUALITY over QUANTITY.
This will probably cost me some flaming... The PLAYERS quality is falling! People that play 2 minutes a game like Were We Remain and ban it as an horrible game. There are games that require time to be understood and people usually don't "waste" their time on games that seems ugly. Poor graphics = poor game. WRONG!!!!!
It could just be your opinion really. There are millions of people who like different game styles so the ones you're talking about could be those. Or you're right and the games' qualities is failing.
Darn. I thought you were talking about video games. I was going to prepare a wall of text for you.
A few weeks ago, there were games rated 5's and 6's. This week were lots of 7's. What you gotta understand is, despite the average ratings followed by point stampers who don't care, half of the 5's and 6's are actually good and deserve at least a 7. See those popular games that don't have a high rating? Try them; you may think they deserve a higher one.
