Since I have joined Armorgams . . .I see a lot of Atheists and their threads about why people believe in God etc . . . I wanted to start a thread about the bible and christianity.

The purpose of this thread is to debate a different book of the bible each week. We will discuss lessons, morals, and different stories.

We will have friendly debates. Please . . . if you are atheist or of other beliefs . . . you may discuss in this thread, just PLEASE no fighting, flaming, spamming, trolling . . . etc

This week we will begin from the beginning . . . .Genesis

This is a crazy thought, but, maybe each religion only got a piece of the story.

That is an excellent theory. I have thought about that before myself!

how is this statement wrong. It doesn't matter who you are . . .if you are a christian, you will eventually hear the voice of God speaking to you.

That stretches credulity. . .hugely. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - I don't know a single Christian who's heard the voice of god speaking to them, and I know a lot of Christians. Lots of very old ones too. Really, that's a blanket generalization I won't accept.

You do know Alt, that people can hear the voice of God, but it only pertains to them and their life. It doesn't have to be a prophetic word for everyone to hear.

well then, how does it work? Do you agree that some people ignore the voice of God? Or they don't think it is God?

Well . . .on this point, I think we can agree to disagree. But you do make a valid point.

There is no proof that anything in the Bible is true. Let's just leave it at that.

Kirby is right. It's something you would be certain of, an I know many people who haven't been.

My opinion on what snazzy said is that everyone that goes to heaven will get to meet and speak with God. I also think that since God works in mysterious ways he may speak to everyone through other people such as saints, cardinals, priests, and the Pope. I think he even speaks to everyone when ever someone does a good deed.

Alt is right that he never said everyone in the bible was crazy, he has just used that excuse of everyone so far.... =P

Not an excuse. . .a reason. Also, I didn't call Joesph schizo. Just Moses and Abraham - and even then, I only mentioned the possibility.

Well . . . we will see. I will call you out if you call another biblical figure a schizo.
