Euthanasia is the killing of someone with a condition or birth defect or retardation that makes them extremely different from other people. I don't mean skin color or appearance, I mean sever mental or brain problems.
Do you think that the murder of these people is ethical or not? And to whom should it apply?
I don't believe it's ethical, like I said in the other thread, that's what sets us apart from other animals. We have hope for those of us who have defects, and we allow them to have a happy life anyway.
If it is to be used at all, it should only be on those who have no chance of living and would die a painful death.
I extremely disagree with this practice. Everyone should have a chance at life. Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder were both blind, but they both showed the world they had great talent on the piano.
But, at times, can it be necessary to continue our success as a species?
Our species isn't going to die out anytime soon, humans will continue to be the dominant species, whether we allow people with mental disabilities to live or not

But they are allowed to pass on their disability to the rest of humanity. They are polluting the gene pool and that is not acceptable.
Sorry 'bout the double post, Liga's didn't pop up.

The gene pool is so large that it won't really matter. (Yes, I know it's not a real pool. Just a metaphor type thing...) It's not worth it in my opinion to kill off the people with disabilities, just to prevent that small amount of spread.
The same could be said about the stupid gene. That keeps getting passed along too.
If we killed off everyone who wasn't the same, we would breed a race of man that would all die from the same sickness. This is also the phillosophy of the Nazi.

I put on MY VERY FIRST POST that I didn't think that people who were different should suffer that fate so that is would be VERY CLEAR. But obviously that wasn't read...
I don't want anyone making that assumption on this thread.
I'll be honest. I find it inhumane. Retards are people, too, and they have every right to live ust like a normal person does. Has anyone here seen "Rain Man?" He had Autism, but is still very smart and has an amazingly accurate memory. So he is just as valued as anybody else.
Though euthanization on people who are doomed to suffer a horrible and agonizing death is probably the best and most humane course of action (Considering there is no possible way of recovering).
