what allies does Canada have that the U.S. doesn't?
A lot more people seem to dislike Americans because of Bush and the nuclear power they have rather then us jolly lumberjacks made of syrup that play hockey 24/7. Also, people tend to want the underdog to win.
And even though we are close and would never go to war since our people and governments are so similar (there wouldn't be anything to fight about), most Canadians think of Americans as a extremist right wing religious man with no actual argument, and most Americans of Canadians as people with strange accents, who drink maple syrup for breakfast, play hockey all the time, and live in igloos. In, fact they are probably the most similar of all people in the world.

I don't think the allies would get too involved just because they like on or the other more though. There's no reason for anyone else to get involved, since we have the same allies and it would be stupid for them to choose one or the other.

Just pointing it out but this topic isn't about if a war would happen but rather if one did who would win.
If we leave out politics and thing similar to that America would almost definitly win just because of the amount of nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons it could fire on notice (example America owns 9,400 nuclear weapons,4,075 are active and 2,400 are warheads) they could literaly blanket all of Canada in radiation.

If that is true, then you are saying most Americans are mentally retarded?

Seem to dislike. Others will be very hesitant to join in. Even then, it would take a lot of determination and firepower to try to invade the US. The US isn't that weak. The country's military power coupled with the hesitation of others in joining a war against it makes thing much more difficult for Canada.
The US still has its allies even after what Bush did. Few have developed enmity against it. Green also made a good point.

It depends because yet we have a smaller military we would put up a fight UK no matter what would not stand for it and back us up it is in the monarchy England goes to war we do same thing also Canada's rating in military training is 8.7 out of ten and USA is 7.2 i think it would be a even fight though yet they outnumber us saying this again if were gonna go down were going down swinging
