After putting some thought into the status of our public school, and the intellectual presence of America on the world stage. I've come to realized than the majority of our problems could be solved with smarter kids and the best way to get smarter kids is to get a better public school system.
If I ever do anything related to home schooling again, you'll most likely never see me again on AG. I will hang myself.
The last year and a half of my life have been almost solitary confinement, give or take a few days.

That's pretty much how my life would be too. Then with my crazy mom and brothers. Dang, I'd seriously be suicidal. I'd get banned for depressing people.

Try doing it alone. I've always been one to talk to myself but then I started answering myself. I know I'm going crazy.
I think alot of the problem is all of this new technology. For example I dont have a cell phone and I'm the smartest kid in my class(I know im modest =P)Most kids would much rather talk or text than do homework. I also had to pay for my xbox 360 and most of the games. I'm not saying technology is bad its just most kids abuse them. Instead of just sitting in my room listening to music on my i-pod I listen to it while i do my homework. And computers help us do reasearch and write papers. Also The USA needs to realize that kids are their future and if we arent as smart as we can be the USA will lose some of its power and most of its research and advanced stuff. Part of the problem is also parents, they need to stress to their kids how important it is to learn stuff and help them learn it.
The funny thing is that we all care so much about this now and I'm sure everyone else did when they were kids but something happens when you grow up. Anyway it's really annoying when adults think that they're better than students or that we deserve no respect at all just because we're younger.
How about better parents who don't let their kids get raised by the public schools. That would fix half our problems.
I've been home schooled before, personly, I liked it waaaay better than Public school. I got to sleep in, I got done with my work alot faster. I got more freetime to do things. It wasn't very hard, the only con about it was that I wasn't able to see my friends everyday. But that's a price I'm willing to pay. I would sleep in to 10:00, do my math, time is now 10:45 Read part of my book. 10:45-12:00 Freetime, usually check ArmorGames, and if there isn't anything new, I'd play some Warcraft until school was out. 2:15, but then wait for the buses to drop my friends off, and hang out.

No offence but home school kids usually can't get into a good college and don't receive even a public school education.
I was public schooled through Grade 8,but the town I live in doesn't have a high school,and the nearest one is an hour away,so I'm doing Independent Studying through High-School.
I never said you weren't smart I just said that home school is in general not as good as a regular high school.
Hmm....my regular high school...people cussing left and right, people cheating left and right, people getting expelled left and right, people threatening you for answers, and most of all, Getting done with your work, take a look around, and see everybody else not finished, this usually happens to me. Than I have the nice wait of an hour. (My periods are 82 minutes.) Because the rest of the class is still working, while I'm rotting in my chair.
