All i hear now is just really, really bad rap songs, where has all the rock songs gone? I want to know If rock still has a fan base, and i mean a strong one. And if rock isn't dead whose the best rock band?
Rock is great, it just isn't on the popular channels. You guys might have different radio stations, but 98.9 The Roc plays good rock songs half the time. But it is pretty hard to find them. no stations put much rock, because not much people listen to it anymore so they cant make money. Thats the real reason you never hear it. But thats why they made the iPod lol
um...their song Apologize is the most legally downloaded song in america.
I don't even consider them rock <.< Well, I guess maybe light rock...but still.
They sound almost like Alternative...but they are labled as rock. It appears that today's definition of rock is a little different from what it was 15 years ago.
Rock is dead by location. Is Phoenix, Arizona, it's alive and well, while in the state of Georgia it's pretty much nowhere to be seen. The bands are still out there, though, and many releasing new albums. Modest Mouse, Cold War Kids, Dead Weather, etc. are releasing CDs soon or did already.
Being commercially successful doesn't make you good.
It helps though.
Still One Republic is a good, fairly popular band. Stop And Stare went on to be fairly successful as well. They have a few other hits like Say(All I Need) and Come Home.
