I was watching Fox News awhile back and what I heard was that, Obama doesn't care if UNDERAGEteens have sex, he only cares if they are safe!!! Why would anyone be for teens having sex... I have been to parties where people get drunk and next thing you know they are pregnant..... He should be completely against UNDERAGEteens having sex. I don't care if they are safe, you can still obtain an STD even if you are using a condom or something similar!
1. You can't trust the media. They will lie and make things seem worse than they are so that people are interested and their ratings will go up. Plus, Fox News is notorious for being biased. 2. How the heck is Obama supposed to stop the kids from having sex? I mean, I'm not saying that what Fox said about his view was true, but if it was, is it really that bad? It doesn't matter if he hires a bunch of Anti-Teenage Sex Police to stop it from happening, it's going to happen. And it's better if they're using protection. 3. Isn't that the kids' choice? I mean, we can't have the government leaning over everybody's shoulder and trying to stop teens from having sex. They will do it anyway, and they won't like the government.
Look at the situation politically. How would Obama profit from saying he opposed teen sex? It doesn't really matter what his answer is, only that people will have a different opinion of HIM, not the issue itself. Therefore, he can be for or against it and either way not do anything about it. What would you say?
Why should we care if teens have sex? If they use contraceptives there's nothing wrong with it, just like an adult having sex. Yes, I understand that they fail at times, but then the teen needs to take responsibility. There's nothing wrong with the act itself. Society just tells us there is.
I'll hold back on telling you not to watch Fox News. Not my source of choice, but whatever floats your boat.
He should be completely against UNDERAGEteens having sex.
who are you to say what he should be completely against?
I was watching Fox News awhile back and what I heard was that,
lmao, fox news is completely republican biased =/
and besides teens are going to have sex and we should let them (us hehe) =] as long as they are safe meaning use a condom and the girl should be on birth control. im not saying that teens should have sex with every person they feel mildly attracted to but if you trust one another and know eachother well enough to know sex won't ruin your relationship... why not?
It isn't Obama or anybody elses decision whether teens have sex or not. It's a personal choice, no one can make it for someone else (unless that person is a rapist which is just wrong anyway). If teens want to have sex (many of which do) that's thier choice nobody elses, and they should at least be taught that if they choose to that they should protect themselves.

Exactly right! It was a stupid question to be asked anyway; no matter how he responded to the question, the only thing he could do was gain or lose support, not change people's opinions on the issue. It only made sense that he was behind teenage sex, since so many Americans support it as well. What was he supposed to say?
I don't know that he was trying to support teenage sex. I'm not really sure that many people can be said to "support" it. Personally, I support educating teens about safe sex so that if they do make that decision they are at least educated on how to protect themselves. I think that may have been the view he was trying to express. To educate and encourage are two different things.
Being constantly put on the spot like that is bound to cause a few fumbles. Every president (and politician) says something at some point that could have been put better with a little more time to think.
If a couple of teens want to have sex it's thier business. It's the morals and values they believe in and their personal feelings that will dictate that choice.

Yeah, you're right. Usually, though, people look at it one way or the other, so I assume most people will say he supports it. The only problem I have is that teenagers might not be ready to understsand that kind of responsibility (some of them, anyway), and they may make choices simply on the basis that they're allowed to make them. Personally I don't like it, but I also respect people enough to let them make their own choice and deal with it. I just happen to be seeing all the problems that can arise, like pregnancy and STDs and stuff, but if teens choose to accept, or even ignore, the possibility of these, then they can do what they want.
