Would be pretty cool, but as said earlier, governments do not agree with each other.

It seems patriotism is holding us back? I never thought I'd say this, but I think America is just as good as Canada. And the other way around. Will that convince you.

I want to legally live in Nunavut though. So I'm biased

No one wants Nunavut, I want Alluvut. Lawl.

HELL no. We like our healthcare, laws (well most), and everything just fine.

And I don't think I could ever say that I'm American >.<

They call it Nunavut for a reason. None of it. Lawl. Kidding. It's Inuit or something.

And I don't think I could ever say that I'm American >.<

And I don't think most Americans could be called Canadians >>.>>

I've come up with a list of pros and cons.

Pros:

MUCH Better Military
Better Economy
More Farmland For Both
Identical Currencies

Cons:

Arguing Governments
Partisanship On Both Sides
Too Much Land (Which Canada Already Has)

That's all I could think of : /

No. There would be a huge problem when it comes to government, and it would be the same problem Canada has experienced with huge differences in population from one area to the next.

The number of seats any given province in our country recieves in Parliament is based on population. As it is, Quebec and Ontario have much larger populations than the rest of the country. So if those two provinces agree on an issue, the other 11 provinces and territories are basically disregarded.

If Canada merged with the United States this would get even worse, as Canada, although much larger has only 10% the population. If we used a population based government system then the Americans would have all the power and could bully the Canadian population. And if we used a land based one America would go insane.

Then underneath that we have a culture war. I will use the example of the Canadian Football League and the National Football League.

When there was a percieved threat of an NFL team in Toronto, Canadian senators stood up and said, screw NAFTA, if they try to do this we won't let them. Because of the fear it would destroy the CFL, which is a Canadian icon. It would be just like French-Canadians and English-Canadians. Canada would end up imposing law after law and creating program after program to protect its culture from an American invasion.

Why do we have the Canadian Broadcasting Channel? A long time ago the Canadian government realized Canadians were watching way more American television.

This will never happen, and no matter how nice it sounds it would be horrific for both countries.

And there is no way you're going to go and bring a two party political system over here, we've got 5 parties and we like it.

Long post, that took seconds to come into my head.

Well thanks for the feed back but i think that they should, the reasonable thing to do would be to let the governments re-name the country and eventually merge. Both in population and cultures we would be more diverse and English would be the official language XD

If there are more people all in one place then that place should have more say.

But I don't even like representative democracy, we need a real democracy. Where everyone puts a vote into a computer or a ballot box and it's all counted up until you reach a solution.

But you guys, free health care!

That would be nice. I really wish that the U.S. would nationalize it >.< Right now so many people can't afford it.

And we still wouldn't be able to afford it. Unless you like having your entire income going into the government of course.

/Off topic.

no.

Also not being able too afford healthcare is no reason too nationalize it, it would be nice if people realized capitalist was better and the reason people are having trouble paying it is beacause of inflation witch the government caused.(cant say that, since the government dosent make money, the federal reserve made this mess)

All this is is another reason too tax people, more government power, less choice and worse medical care.(in the 1800's tax freedom day was january 4, today its something like may 20th)
