What would we actually gain from Canada?

Well the only way to merge Canada and the U.S. is them 2 have war. that would be unimaginably foolish because Canada and Britian are already allies. If a war went on between the U.S. and Canada, we will also be going 2 war with Britian and all of the the other allies. That action could start World War Three, but i not sure on that one.

Wow. Dont mind that word.)

Anyway I am only the third generation from my dads side of the family to live in America. A long, long time ago in a place far,far away. My ancestors moved to america from Ireland and Italy. They then join and the rest is forgotten becuase I try not to spam to much. Blah, Blah Blah many years later and out pops me. I dont really have an opinoin because if you paid any attention to the story I made no senses at all or tried to.

There are alot of Pros and alot of Cons also many people dont want this to happen. I dont think that it will not happen and right now from an American point of view. I cant really say I want it to happen right now. All counries depend on each other. With as messed up as the economy in America is right now if we try to merge with another country. Well I will just sit on my bed and starve. It could seriously jack everything humans have worked for, and not for nothing we really dont have any real reason to merge with Canada anyway.

It'd be awesome but I don't believe it would be possible because of many reasons... (to much to say)

True, the current party in power is Conservative. But with Obama in power in the United States, would you call the country Liberal?

How about one of the more powerful resource based economies in the world.

Not to mention under one government with those resources we could most likely become the wealthiest country in the world and attract way more tourism. If the US adopted a few of our rights then boom way more attractive country. (we would only take up one seat in the UN too :P )

Well technically no it would take a couple years for the Govs. to compromise on a single system to run the country.

Well, Canada's resources and America's military would make a great combo, but i doubt it will happen. But then will we make 100 states or would a whole new name be used?

It would have to be a compromise.

Although I agree that I think it would (should) never happen, you have to realize that you can't argue that we "wouldn't get along", or anything like that. We would still live where we live now, it's not like we'd have to mix with each other or anything.
