I have a question I'm not even sure if the ones with the pokemon nerd badges can answer... in fact, a series of questions, all relating to one question; What's with Eggsecute?
Why is it a grass type? Why is it a psychic type? Why does it consist of several organisms but count as one pokemon? Why is it named eggsecute? It doesn't look menacing. Why does it evolve into a multiheaded coconut tree?
I believe they're grass/psychic types because they're like eggs in a nest, but they don't have appendages, so they use PK to move themselves or something. Eggsecutor are essentially the same thing, but the nest is in a tree which also happens to be it's body. I don't know why it's still got psychic type, though.
The name is based on execute (which has other meanings than killing someone, btw), and it is a word play on "eggs are cute", which it really doesn't need to be menacing to be called~
Why it is a grass type... Look at the design of the evolution, Exeggutor. There's the plant part. The dual psychic type, I'm not sure it really needs an explanation beyond 'it just is'.
The reason it counts as one organism is because the six individual eggs act under a shared mind - sorta. It's like Dugtrio, Combee... I think there's at least one more... Also, Exeggcutor has 3-6 heads, each probably one of the eggs that evolved into it.
As for why they turn into a tree... Maybe it's an eggplant? >_>;;;
Heh... puns.
Okay, Manta~ To start with, it's Exeggcute.
Wasn't sure how to spell it. I looked it up as Eggsecute, to see if that was correct, and I still got results for the correct pokemon.

Ah! Thinking outside the box. I should do that more often...
And I never thought it's name would be based on any other meaning than to kill, for some reason. >_<

I still don't see why it's a plant type in it's basic stage... but ok~

A good explanation for that which cannot be explained.

Ah... Ok, then. I vaguely remember hearing that from the show. They share thoughts and actions then?

Thought so.
Aight... thanks, Zoph. I'm slightly less confused by my second favorite pokemon, now!
