So, since my last competition was pretty much a discussion, I'll now close that and move over to this general colony discussion (the others are all specific)
TALK ABOUT ANYTHING RELATED TO COLONY (and beef burgers)
The key seems to be the first to pin...not the first to pinbreak... (just an observation) Why? It takes time to pinbreak and it costs additional resources. Idk about the dual forge. Although it seems to be an interesting idea, I think forge and post would work better due to the fact that you have double the unit types at your disposal. As for the idea of pinbreaking, a couple missiles and an analysis on the weaknesses of some units may help. Note: most pros will use multiple units and different positioning so their strenghs overlap and their weaknesses all but disappear.
OK, I just started and was doing well in my first online match and then I was disconnected. I tried to log back on and play online again but it says you cannot log in with that name.Did I get banned or something? I hope not, didn't get to finish that match
The key seems to be the first to pin...not the first to pinbreak..
as it hapens i was speacking to nubble about this very topic erlyier....
and the conclusions we came to were as follows:
1. pins olny uses are:
influance they cant mass an army. short rang units mecome more useful feild control time to micro
this in itself is all you need to win.
but i dissagre with your statement: i belive it is not the first to pin who wins. but
the player who is best prepared for a pin.
aye, this is normaly the pinner but in essance the currant game revolves around a pin.
ill leave this thought with you:
what would happen if i used a spinx with meds to egnore enemy troops and pin even if there were other units on the feild... i was wondering if the charge comand would be useful to create a new set of stratergys with basical consisted of bypassing tier 1 units to make sure the tier 2 units are pinned?
I said the following before in some way : I want to make a strategy that relies heavily on Forge, with minor help from influence units.
A lot has been done lol. i don't understand why you constantly limit yourself when using strats. Can you at least say to what gaming class this is useful against and the skill level needed to execute
i belive it is not the first to pin who wins.
I don't recall anyone saying that. The key here is that why would you prepare a pinbreak instead of being the one that pins? Though there are major extremities as outliers majority of mainstream strats prove this fact.
what would happen if i used a spinx with meds to egnore enemy troops and pin even if there were other units on the feild...
In most cases that's suicide. Almost every unit can kill medics if given enough time. Plus That usually leads to vulnerable units. Furthermore is why ignore enemy units? The time it takes for a unit to start a shooting frame is relatively short. Though it wont lead to new strategies, its a great tactic in situations. A common example is Using a monarchy foxer. A continuous stream of tanks plus 2 saints charging usually puts tons of pressure on unsuspecting opponents. Another example would be The pinbreak variation of Mba build(bank forge gen post). Usually the player charges the tanks to cause a lot of pressure on enemy marines.
well I haven't played colony for a long time now so I might give bad advice but here's mine make some Romans and Scouts if your enemy has nukes but spread them apart.
Guys, I haven't been on Armor Games in a while, but I just want to say I was looking at this thread and I am astounded with the pureness and smartness and nobility of these posts. I went back to around 600s and this is just amazing. The human race is an amazing thing. Krin is a phenomenal person. Colony is an amazing game. I vote for Krin for president. Just think, there are most likely countless other people in the world with awesomeness similar to Krin, and it just makes me rapt with adoration. But back to my main point, I just love how you guys are so into this game and so nice and polite at the same time. Soymaster, you are amazing. It makes me want to cry for happiness on how this is such an engaging, honest, and sublime thread. Thank you guys for all of this hardcore colony work, and thank you for making me realize how great people can be.
To sum it up. You guys are great. Colony is great. Krin is great. Armor Games is great. Planet Earth is great. I love the universe.
