A Haiku is a Japanese lyric verse form having three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables, traditionally invoking an aspect of nature or the seasons.

Well, that said, heres the rules:

1) The Haiku must be original (no plagarizing)!
2) It must fit the weeks theme
3) It must be submitted before the deadline
4) It must be submitted for the contest (no using works previously written)
5) One Submission per user
6) The Same User cannot win twice in a row (but there welcome to submit!)

Hopefully oneday the winner could get a merit...

The Deadline will always be a Wednsday, so the deadline for the first theme will be Wednsday, September 2. The theme is The Pond

Albeit the weather's
harsh, the leaves hang on firmly;
As we cling to hopes

Enjoy this week's theme, I find it quite inspirational. I feel like I could write tons of Haiku about Autumn, as Maxence Fermine's character did about snow.

Neige wasn't such a bad book...

I'm curious, after seeing HidenxBeast's haiku...
I always thought a haiku was supposed to be 5-7-5 not 5-5-7
I know it's a matter of technicality but Hiden you should switch those around maybe?

The jade hare's one quest
To produce the elixir
To save a goddess

It's based off the Chinese legend of Chang'e as all the tree haikus have been haikued.

Actually it was eight syllables on that last line.

So when's this thing going to get judged?

A deadline wasn't ever posted, so we shall remain unknowing.

That's so coincidental!

I don't think any of the judges have looked at this forum in a long time :P

I think that the official judges are Avorne and FallenSky. Avorne hasn't been here for a while so Fallen is currently judging. Freakenstein also judged sometimes but Fallen came back a couple of weeks ago and he has been judging since then.

I was in the spring, but then I went on leave and when I came back I didn't feel like returning to my judging post.

Yeah, I judged twice until Fallen came back on his feet. I'm actually tempted to re-exercise my judginess, but I'll wait a little bit more. He might be doing something.
