A Haiku is a Japanese lyric verse form having three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables, traditionally invoking an aspect of nature or the seasons.
Well, that said, heres the rules:
1) The Haiku must be original (no plagarizing)! 2) It must fit the weeks theme 3) It must be submitted before the deadline 4) It must be submitted for the contest (no using works previously written) 5) One Submission per user 6) The Same User cannot win twice in a row (but there welcome to submit!)
Hopefully oneday the winner could get a merit...
The Deadline will always be a Wednsday, so the deadline for the first theme will be Wednsday, September 2. The theme is The Pond
I'm going to clarify this once more so everyone will know:
Haiku's can rhyme.
Japanese Haiku's don't.
OK! OK!!! sorry!!
Official Entry The light turns yellow I panic, hitting the gas; a cop was watching
(i'm implying that the cop just saw me run a red light)
i'm sorry if i misused the semicolon, i wasn't sure if that was a proper way to use it, but a period did not make since; nor did a comma. (lol hope i used that correct as well, i hate semicolons!!)
Un-Official Entry The lanes are just right the ball effortlessly hits the pocket and strikes
Even so, they can't here Freak; it's in the original rules stated by maverick. I'm sure traditionnal Haikus can't rhyme. You may be right about contemporary free-haikuing permitting rhymes, but here it's a no-no.
Never underestimate the meaning of the word ''Might''. It won't be today, since I drinked a tid bit much. Alas, I'm still the only one of my merry band to stand still even now as I write this, but I don't want to make a biased judging due to this little behaviorial excentricity.
-You see, I drink only once in a blue moon, but I tolerare alcohol very well-
So, it'll most likely be tomorrow, sorry BlackSkullD.
No problem Fallen. It's always better to be sober when you are going to judge something. Besides, some users that have not yet entered the contest might use this extra time to write a Haiku, and it is always good to have more people participating in this thread.
