Earth will never end!

Eventually, it will. But most likely farther along than 2012.

yes it will, the/our sun will eventually go supernova, or blackhole, in which we will either be 1) burned alive(or something of that nature for a supernova) or implode under the emmense preasure of a blackhole, eitherway, it will be instant, most likely we will know (who knows, in a million years, deep space travel may be possable) but, eventually it will end. but in 2012? our sun is middle aged(estamated), what our sun is 6.4 billion years old? we still have 6 and one half billion years.

we know how long humans can live for, but how do we know how long the sun will live for? does it even age?

We pretty much do in fact, stars don't have an infinite amount of hydrogen to fuse into helium, eventually it will run out...and fuse helium into higher elements, where it expands and will engulf all the planets up to earth/mars or so, then once it runs out of stuff to fuse that gives more energy than it uses...it's not big enough to supernova, and will gently (relatively) collapse into a white dwarf. Earth would be...incinerated during the engulfing stage and left barren of all life, and even if something survives, it must evolve quickly to adapt to the practically no light...or heat.

Ours is a middle sized star, still burning hydrogen...
