This morning I was awoken by my alarm clock powered by electricity generated by the public power monopoly regulated by the US department of Energy. I then took a shower in the clean water provided by the municipal water utility. After that, I turned on the TV to one of the FCC regulated channels to see what the national weather service of the national oceanographic and atmospheric administration determined the weather was going to be like using satellites designed, built, and launched by the national aeronautics and space administration. I watched this while eating my breakfast of US department of agriculture inspected food and taking the drugs which have been determined as safe by the Food and Drug Administration.
At the appropriate time as regulated by the US congress and kept accurate by the national institute of standards and technology and the US naval observatory, I get into my national highway traffic safety administration approved automobile and set out to work on the roads built by the local, state, and federal departments of transportation, possibly stopping to purchase additional fuel of a quality level determined by the environmental protection agency, using the legal tender issued by the Federal Reserve Bank.
On the way out the door I deposit any mail I have to be sent out via the US postal service and drop the kids off at the public school. After work, I drive my NHTSA car back home on the DOT roads, to my house which has not been burned down in my absence because of the state and local building codes and fire marshal's inspection, and which has not been plundered of all it's valuables thanks to the local police department.
I then log on to the internet which was developed by the defense advanced research projects administration and Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin tells me how Obama is an evil communist socialist nazi terrorist muslim fascist who wants to create DEATH panels, and left ANY mention of ANY death panels out of the bill so we wouldn't know.

Well, actually it is plagiarism, since you never did actually put the name of the source on the topic, or anywhere else. I understand the topic and what your saying, but have no comment.
If you are fighting in favor of one particular government over another and you are not at least 25 years old; then you are too young to understand enough about life, politics, and economics for your opinion to matter.
It's like reading a poem about heartbreak from some 14 year old. They think they know the world when reality hasn't even kicked in yet.
This socailism vs. capitalism thing has got to stop.
Yakooza made a great point. Capitalism does work, despite the fact that it isn't a perfect system.
The problem with the OP is that it didn't explain why socialism fails. In fact, if it did explain why socilaism fails, we would have a bunch of 16 year olds in here complaining how whong the OP was and how much capitalism fails--despite the fact that none of them ever payed a single house payment or worked full time for more than 5 years.
There is no such thing as a perfect government. I think I would rather read those cheesy heartbreak poems written by the whiney 14 year olds than put up with more of these threads.
You can talk about any form of government you want. However, if you have to put down other forms of government and start political arguements, the thread will be locked.
