It's come to my attention that the community of Armor Games does not do well when it comes to trolls. That's why I suggest that before someone comes into the forums the first time, they should have to take a short quiz. Questions would include what is a troll/spammer/etc, how should you react to them, what not to do, and other things that would help reduce the impact of these people.
Yeah well if somebody tried to hack the site or DoS attack it then I'm sure we'd have a problem.
Also note that some ISPs that use shared bandwidth connections among other things will frequently reset your IP. I use an unwired service and I get switched multiple times a day, so an IP block wouldn't be effective. As far as I understand. But I'm no IT buff.
Mo quiz. For instance, I could come into the forums, pass the quiz, and then decide to be a troll. Mission failed, the end, game over, whatever you want to call it.

We pretty much decided it wasn't a great idea, that's not really what I intended it would be used for anyway.
This can be locked then, unless you guys (mods) don't mind people continuing to discuss IP banning in it.
Trolls are smarter than little children. They won't answer honestly and will get in just the same. It will be added pain to normal users for no reason.

That really wasn't the point, it was to help normal users know how to respond to trolls. I'd have to agree though, we don't really need it.
I think I'll get this locked though. It's been discussed enough, and we've come to the consensus that it was a bad idea. No problem with that though.
It's not so much a bad idea as it is a twisted one with wrong ways of doing things. Sure, it will help people get some sort of raised awareness of trolls, but in NO WAY, should it get added, should it be the first thing you see when you register. That gives the new guys some bad thoughts going into their heads. Instead, have it somewhere as a sort of "link" that gives full definition of trolls and ways to "fight them".
My two cents are, if this actually gets added, don't bring it up as soon as a person's registered, and make this link noticeable enough so that people can see it.

It would be nice to have a page like that, except have it cover all different types of rules. Shouldn't go too in depth, just a few pointers in bulleted format.
The proffessional troll can easily do his job. It's about being subtle. Trolling means spreading misinformation, encouraging extremism, and creating hate towards another group. You have to take out the group of trolls that do this.
