I like my music with every type of metal there is. Fucking Metallica is my favorite, after that comes Disturbed and System of a Down, but my friend is dragging me towards Motorhead as well.
What i dont understand is how people enjoy sh*t like Dr. Dre and the Whigger Eminem. Rap promotes drugs, prostituition, disrespect, and all that jazz. It's also horrible music and i cant understand what the hell they mean in their lyrics. At least in metal you dont have to understand the words cuz it's all about the music, not some guy who can't even sing.
Also, rap is just someone who is just talking, or in the rar instances when they do have a rhythm for their singing, they edit their voice because they can't sing for crap. Metal is pure music and very enjoyable because it has actual MUSIC in it.

I.........HATE.............RAP lol ya, but when you say metal what type of metal? black, death, heavy, alt, extreme, screamo? I like heavy metal and some alt.
I actually agree with kuraikane. I myself listen to metal, and don't really like rap. Nothing against rap,but it's just not the type of music I like to listen to. I also agree with the fact that you shouldn't judge either genre until you hear more then just the things you see on tv or hear on the radio. I have plenty of albums that yes, may be metal and have screaming, but they also have quite a few songs on them that talk about love and such and are actually soft sounding in their own way. I'm positive that rap has songs of the same nature. So, i think before you judge and say it sucks due to what your friends say and how certain people act who listen to it, do your research, and look at it as a whole, not by what outside influences has led you to believe
Dear uninformed retard ever heard the phrase "sex,drugs and rock and roll? Rap has good beats to it and The lyrics are often meaningful, rappers do sing, A lot of metal bands promote violence so maybe you should get out of that corner you sit in.
1) metal isn't rock and roll.
2) metal bands probably do use a lot of drugs. But they don't glorify it. There's the difference.
3) Rappers sing? Yeah, some of them. But most of them speak, and half the ones that sing use autotuner...
I notice most of the ppl here who say they like metal enjoy system of a down and disturbed. Some of the WORST METAL out there atm.
And I know why, you can't handle the death metal stuff, but there are MORE KINDS OF METAL.
Listen to Mastadon or Tool Or if you DO like heavy stuff but not too heavy, melodic death metal
I choose rap. I see a lot of comments about how rap is all about sex, drugs, violence, etc... and the majority is. but there are a lot of good legit rap songs out there that aren't about wanting those things. I have yet to find a metal song that holds strong meaning, and doesn't make my ears bleed, but I know quite a few great rap songs with meaning, heart, and they sound great. Example: Dead and Gone by TI.
Depends by the "artist". Metal is good, but im not a screamin type of guy. Rap, I mostly hate it especially the "hip" stuff today. Classic rap and funny rap is cool. Mixing the two is also cool, like limpbizkit
