It's a pad usually made of plastic right in front of your monitor. Each "key" represents a different symbol, and when you press a key, the symbol on the key will appear on the screen.

I think what they mean when they say that they like the keyboard is that they like her best when she's online. But that's just a wild guess; I'm not entirely sure.
