there are alot of atheists and Christians and threads about these so i thought why not create a muslin thread and another reason why i created this thread is because i was wondering if there were other muslims on ag.

Anyway, It depends. Major aspects? I'd start with that its basically, on historiography-like terms based on Judaism just as much as Christianity is -- IE: An "Abrahamic" religion.
Basically -- To be short, Islam's basic aspect 1) Accepts the Torah 2) Accepts Jesus and the virgin birth, Just that he was not the son of god, as text from the Quran relevate that God is all mighty and self-sufficient, there is no equal or any comparable to him.
That being said is why they defy Jesus as the son of god, or the "holy trinity" as it is called. Jesus, to Muslims, was a messenger like that of any other that did his best to spread the faith of God -- Which, in Arabic, and later became "Allah" (IE: The God), the term was used BEFORE the start of the Religion, but due to the Arabic language the Quran was written in and the text within it it became the main, and one of the 99 names of God.
So, Basically, In the Saudi Arabian city of Mecca the prophet Muhammad was born, he meets Angel Gabriel (Jibril in Arabic), and the angel gives him his relevations.
Over time through a series of conquests + Revelations the Quran is formed.
And Basically, the 5 Pillars of Islam are made: 1) Praise to Allah 2) Prayer 5 Times a Day 3) Zakat/Charity/Almsgiving to the poor 4) Sawm/Fasting During the Holy Month of Ramadan 5) Pilgrimage to Hajj.
well jihad is actually defendeing your religeon or country but the terrorists got it wrong and thats why islam has a bad image. the only reason for violence or to kill someone in Islam is if the oppositon is destroying their country or if they are starting a war against Islam but its just that uneducated people dont get it.
