so the fact that we all have a score and rank because of how much we post or rate is bad, must people are just competing now to get a higher and higher score thinking how cool it would be to be #1, people going to random games and rating random and saying things like good game or not bad or not my type of game, not even playing a game, labeling people knights or kings, and people only want to get a higher score, this is not a game site, i am disappoint
that's why they have merits, also some games are too quick to write a good "merit worthy" review on them, otherwise stop complaining and don't take your points and rank too seriously.
Well this is not true for everyone. The AP is made for site participation. In fact I believe it is mainly made for how active you are in the community. Now personally I rate every game that I play, instead of leaving a review. This is mainly out of laziness of not wanting to type out reviews anymore, but honestly if you don't like the AP system then don't get caught up in it. The problems with the game reviews has been an issue for awhile, and there have been many suggestions on how to fix it, but none have been found to work. Its not like this is the only site with spam though. At least the game comments are not like comments on YouTube videos yet right? I personally like the AP system, but don't get too caught up in it. The ones who spam typically get banned if they bring it into the community forums, and the ones in the game reviews can be either ignored or flagged I suppose so I don't see the big deal.
AP has its downsides, but it also gets people to stick around the site. They'll stay on here, trying to get a lot of AP, and eventually they'll start coming for more than the AP. Most the older users don't care about AP, and if it was taken out we'd still come. I know that without AP however, I wouldn't have kept coming in the beginning. I was younger back then though, so I thought it was cool to have a lot xD it's no big deal anymore though.

Thing is, we wouldn't get as many new users. AP draws people in, and then eventually they stop caring and become quality members.
No they don't. AP draws idiots. And they stay idiots. Always. Quality users come because of the forum. Most quality users who are new are scared await by dumb idiot spammers who want AP and never change.
