Okay, you know that's not true. I mean, how hard would it be to put a sattelite over the suspected mountains and have it look for heat signatures resembling human ones, and we go investigate, really?

It sounds like we're not talking about the idea of terrorism, we're discussing a specific GROUP of terrorists. Totally different things, you should've been more specific.
You cannot really win against religious guerrilla groups. They will never surrender. They believe that if they die, they will go to paradise, so why would they surrender to an invader?
Look at Germany in both world wars. In WWI, Germany was in an imperialist war, and realized they could not win, so surrender was the best option for them. It was the obvious choice.
In WWII, Germany was bombed back to the stone age and completely defeated. Along with total defeat, there were over 10 million troops stationed in Germany after the war to handle the population. The Germans were willing to change after years of Fascism. The people were ready for change. The West German government had very little corruption.
In Afghanistan, they prefer to live in a fundamentalist society. The current "democratic" government is extremely corrupt and is just an American puppet. Afghans do not want to be Westernized. They want to be left alone. Unless they are willing to change, there is no hope in the mission in Afghanistan. It's time to leave them alone.

Totally. Let's spend hundreds of trillions on satellites to cover the entire country so we can kill a few bad guys!
