Because NoName was being lazy, I have to make this again -.-

Even though this involves intelligence.

For forgetful people. Chances are, you don't remember your basic 7th grade math beyond what you use for trigonometry.

So I've come up with this. I give you a set of 10-20 math problems daily, and you guys answer them. These are so simple you probably don't remember them. Some of these may be a little harder, but incorporate the same principles involved.

Also, this is a point system. Those who score above 90 get 5 points. Those who score between 80 and 90 get 4. Then 3. Then 2. Then 1.

A=5
B=4
C=3
D=2
F=1

I will also give you a basic overall score. Once you sign up, you're in. Your 'grade' if you will, will fall if you do nothing.

And yes, this is me playing control freak and teacher, I'll admit it. But this will also see who can do basic stuff will relative ease. And yes, basic stuff is hard if you haven't done it in years.

Okay, it's not quite 6:00 AG time yet, but I think you're all that I'm going to get for now, so I'm posting results.

Graham, you scored 80. #3 was incorrect because you hadn't seen that I had NO parentheses, and therefore came up with the wrong answer. If I had parentheses, you would be correct.

Soulhack, you scored 60. #3, see above. For #5, see Graham's process.

Fractal, you scored 80. See Graham's for details.

WhiteStripe, you scored 20. SAA. For the others, typos DO drop your grade.

#3 was the hardest, I see. If it were to have been (44 / 11) + (6 x 10), you all would have been right. But the rule of parentheses is that they have to be there to be able to be used. The correct answer was 100.

Well done. All of you. At least you tried. So the board is at

Moat: 0
Graham: 4
Soul: 2
Fractal: 4
White: 1

Next quiz is later.

Just a question:

Can I use Ruby to do this?

Can I use Ruby to do this?

No. You must use the ruby colored matter in your head. ONLY yours.

Sorry, I didn't find it fair for me to answer after everyone else did.

When's the next quiz? I think I'll try my hand at this, math helps the brain and exercises it

This one is the full 10 questions.

Also, there are never going to be word problems. I HATE word problems, so I won't make you sift through them.

Standard Problems (Must be done)

1. (17*(12*3)) + (-12) * 7 = ?

2. -14 * 12 + (3*2) = ?

3. -14 * 73

4. 83 + 12 * 6 = ?

5. 1/6 * 12/7 = ? (Round to the nearest whole)

6. 12^3 * 7 = ?

7. 12b + 16 * 10 = 1,600 b = ?

8. 18 * 4 = ?

Extra Points (Optional)

9. 88^4 / 12 = ?

10. 10^g / 100 * 10 = 100 g = ?

Yessir, Moat. Graham asked me to do that, as opposed to 'x.'

Also, your grade is 0. I'd do this one, AND the extra ones.

*cough*

Just because I like math makes me a nerd?

TRY and bully me, buddy. I'll let you. But only if you like frequent trips to the hospital.

Eh methinks I quit. Sorry, but I've already up to my neck in math as it is.
I'm getting off now anyway. Jessica is getting on, she might be interested.

I'll exempt you until you feel like spending 5 minutes on a simple quiz.

Jonnycakes up there(thank you the_manta)is getting off the computer and I'm getting on.
So, can I join? I love competitive math. I'm only in sixth grade, but I think I can do this.

Just do the quiz and you're in.

I'm sure you could do this. It's more angled towards high school people (giant problems), but the concepts are fairly simple.

Can I join?

1. (17*(12*3)) + (-12) * 7 = ?

0, I think?
2. -14 * 12 + (3*2) = ?

-162, methinks.
3. -14 * 73

-1,022
4. 83 + 12 * 6 = ?

155
5. 1/6 * 12/7 = ? (Round to the nearest whole)

0
6. 12^3 * 7 = ?

What does ^ mean?
7. 12b + 16 * 10 = 1,600 b = ?

b=120
8. 18 * 4 = ?

72
_______________________
Extra Points (Optional)
9. 88^4 / 12 = ?

Again, what does ^ mean, for both of these?
10. 10^g / 100 * 10 = 100 g = ?

It IS easy.
