I believe in USA you are legally an adult at 21 am I wrong?
Anyway its just strange because amny people are mature enough to know what ahppens in tehiur country and some dont. It depends in how yo grew up and so. SO shouldnt there be an examn to see if people are mature enough to vote?

18 is like your pretty much an adult, but 21 is like when your officially an adult.

And yes, this is stupid.

18-adult except alcohol.

21-adult with alcohol.

Well, I think there is a larger difference being 21 than 18 aside from legally being able to drink alcohol. People really start to take you seriously as an adult. When your a teenager (even 18 or 19) people still treat you as a kid or "young adult." But at 21+...things start to be different-- which is cool!
(tho I plan to never actually "grow-up"!)

I started college at 14. And had my first job at 15. In Texas, you are considered an adult at 17.

Snakebite?

I started college at 14.

According to your profile.
"I'm 18 and a freshman in college."

So you've been in college for 4 years and your still a freshman?

As has been said on this thread, adulthood is an opinion, not a technicality

In real life no it's a technicality

[/quote]Why did you make this thread btw?

You could just as easily ask for an exam to test whether you can drink vodka without becoming too boisterous, that does not mean they'll put an exam to test it.

Being an adult is different to mostly anyone... it depends on location...

Well the thing is your brain is not fully developed until your 25years old, so I dont think youshould be sonsiderd to be an adult at either age.

I'd like to say it means being able to have sex without your parents yelling at you for the years to come while under 18. But that's not really what it means. It's basically a landmark for being eligible for college, and graduating from high-school, so Graduation=Good, 18=Bad/Good (Your parents don't pay for all your stuff anymore, freedom basically)
