The committee said they picked him because of the relations he set with Iran for peace talks so far and his strives for a "world without nuclear weapons". Obviously he hasn't done too much yet, but there are other reasons.

Politics get use into wars and politics gets rewarded for words that maybe end up as a lie. Anyone think the U.S. will get rid of its nukes or will Congress think thats a bad idea given the investment in such developments, imagine where the hell will we put all the nukes...in your backyard?BTw the whole reason we are such a military force is the fact of the nuclear weapons.
