I understand that People become Vegans because they do not wish to harm animals, but is harming plants any different? Salads were once a living thing as well. Just because it doesn't scream and bleed when it does, doesn't mean it wasn't alive at some point.
I can understand not wanting to eat meat that comes from big bussiness farms that overcrowd and unnaturally raise their stock. Fully understandable! But any animal that is naturally hunted or raised on a family farm is fair game.
That's basically what I'm saying. (Not necessarily in this thread, but generally.)
On the scale of the planet there is little to no differences between a pig and a carrot besides the fact that a pork stew only takes one life where a spout sandwich [...]
Weren't you talking about a carrot in the start of that sentence...?
But as I said on the previous page, a larger amount of plants are used to raise a pig than the amount of plants you'd need to eat to get as full as you'd become by eating that pig.

Yes but i switched to sprouts because there are hundreds per sandwich, im not a fan of causing damage to the environment in any way, but i really think is asinine to try and save the world of plants and animals from themselves. Animals eat plants and animals alike, just as we do. im just curious of what makes a pig who is made of a millions of smaller objects, but only serves its own needs, more important than a series of plant cells that actually do a beneficial effect to the local environment. Logically would we not want to eat all the selfish life forms first?

Fine, but then you should have switched to caviar or some other kind of fish eggs too, to keep the equivalency.

All life forms are selfish, if being selfish means wanting to live. But that's a bad argument, considering that humans deliberately breed more critters just to eat them.
Might be best to sit on your thoughts for a while.
Fair enough
I reviewed my other post and realize it was harshly worded, i was really only trying to share my perspective but i tend to word things aggressively. Sorry! <3
i'm fine with that because personally i think there are way to many humans on earth, other then the fact that you can get diseases from eating human parts.
It really doesnt matter. The food we get is already dead and not eating it wont stop animals from dying. So at the current state of the world, it doesnt matter.
Because plants aren't living breathing things like animals are.
what science class are you in?
plants are living and breathing things.
anyway some people are vegetarian based on religion, Like I know 1 group of people who wear masks because they dont even want to harm the bacteria in the air.
those who choose to vegetarian are just weirdos in general, and are unable to afford good cuts of meat.
sooner or later people will realize that killing chickens for food isn't so bad since there are twice as many chickens as there are people in the world. Fast Food restaurants use chicken in at least one or more of their meals, genetically-enhanced or not, they're still chickens. Killing animals/plants is just supply and demand my friend
