Hi All!

Just reminding you all that NaNiWriMo is on once again, head here

If you haven't heard of it before, the idea is that you write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November.

I tried last year and epically failed, but I know that some other people from this Forum completed it (I hope...)

Annnnd...I'm not going to do it this year because it would be too much effort and November is going to be realllly busy for me.

Enjoy!

To reply to Gantic on the previous page, I know for a fact Cen and Zophia have already signed up. I also know that KR isn't doing it, Klaus was taking the piss and I don't know whether Xzeno signed up.

Therefore the prerequisite would be for Gantic, Zophia and Cenere all to post on that thread at the very least!

It is 100% your own fault for initially making me sign up.

Is there a prize? If so, what is it?

The prize is to succeed in writing the 50000 words, and the feeling of having achieved your goal.

Is that all? No money or anything? Well then, count me out!

Well, you probably could not have made it anyway with that attitude.
And then there is the number of people who have gotten their works published afterwards, earning money as an author and so on....

The prize is the writing you end up having. If you've made a story that's really worth reading, you might continue with getting it published and stuff.

But the prize is the satisfaction of having achieved that story.

So yeah, as Cen said, with an attitude of being willing to do it only if you get some sort of reward, then no, it isn't the thing for you.

Dude.... I have the oldest account. It's older than all of your accounts combined. Yeah, my failures are very heartening, considering I failed twice. :P

But the prize is the satisfaction of having achieved that story.

Not unless it's completely unreadable, then you've only achieved 50,000+ words. :P There are cheaters every year who do just that.

Is it possible to win just by copy/pasting the same word 50,000 times?

That really does depend on your own definition of winning, because mine says that winning is to actually write a piece of work, not just get 50000 pages. Sure, I probably will not be able to complete, but my goal is just as much to write this new genre and a character made from scratch.

That's what cheating is.
