The thing I never got about America is why there are different age limits for different things. At 18 you are an adult and you can smoke, play the lottery, go to a indian casion, buy porn, buy guns and so on. By why is it that you can't buy or drink alcohol until age 21? So at 18 you can put tobacco in your body but not alcohol because why? They both have the danger of killing you. Well America will probability never change this, so for right now I will just keep driving up to Canada to drink. = ]
well, tobacco hasn't been proven to damage the brain or retard the development process, so there's not nearly as much reason to extend the drinking age than for alcohol.
Perhaps if people in America drunk for the taste of the drink (a good real ale or lager) instead of the cheap-o stuff which just gets you sloshed (and manages to taste suspiciously urine-y) - THEN the legal age to drink should and could be lowered. I live in the UK and was brought up around a culture of 'taste over tipsiness', so maybe that's just me being silly and bringing personal views into it.
Simply put, studies show that an adult brain (21) can handle the effects of alcohol. Where as the brain of say an 18 year old cannot.
A personâs brain does not stop developing until his or her early to mid-20s and adding alcohol to the mix is a recipe for disaster. Alcohol also effects teens and adults in a completely different way.
Their was once a brain scan of a drunk adult, and teen, in comparison, you can clearly see the negative effects on the teenage brain.

Hmmm. Well drinking can have it's harmful effects. Mabye the Amercian government dosen't want to look stupid? Nah if thats the case the Obama wouldn't have been elected. Jk... No not really Jk I did kinda mean that.
Anyway the legal age for drinking is put there because the government wants it that way. If they wanted it lower then mabye it would be lower, and vis-versa. Or how ever your supposed to spell it...

For drinking its even simpler, I bet by the time I'm 21 I will have a job and some extra money, then I just drink when I don't have to get up in the morning. I don't mean getting drunk and blacking out though, I mean enough to get buzzed then stop, except on rare occasions with friends around.
Some 18 year-olds haven't finished growing and such, so extending it to 21 years of age lets their body completely finish developing and thus cause less harm to the body.

Yeah it's not that difficult. I am now 22 and this is basically what i do (except I don't have a job atm lolz I'm trying)
My friend is only 13 and he went to a Servo and bought a condom just for fun and they didn't ask for any ID or anything.
That makes sense, maybe they thought he was gonna ave sex with someone, they couldnt stop him could they? Letting him buy it would be the better choice, i mean, can you think of anything bad about a condom?
