Greetings, if you are looking here, it means you are fed up with the Colony hacks. I hope that Krin sees this and attempts to follow my proposition, as i KNOW it would reduce hacking to a bare minimum.
1: Have administrators. I understand why this may be improbable seeing as it's a free game, but it really is a necessity. Somebody who can be told "xyz is cheating by doing this." All games within the past 1 hour are recorded and the admin can observe the game and determine whether or not that person is cheating. If so, one time caught cheating results in an account closure. New problem "hackers can just make a new account...or play as guest..." refer to steps 2+3.
2: Link Colony accounts to an email address. When you insert your name and password, also require an email address. ONCE AN EMAIL HAS BEEN USED, MAKE IT UNABLE TO LINK TO A NEW ACCOUNT. That means, one email: one account. If people want to hack, they have to keep on making email accounts which is both time consuming and boring.
3: The guest problem: Eliminate guests. What is the purpose of a guest? To allow new players to experience online play? If a person wants to try online play, they should only need to insert a username, create a password, email address, and they can play...nobody enjoys playing with a guest, it's a risk to have on your team, they either don't know what a bank is, are rank 10's in hiding, or hackers. Get rid of them.
Feel free to comment upon whether you think this is a good or bad idea, or whether it will even work. Personally, I think it would vastly reduce the hacking going on, but I also understand it would be difficult to get admins.
One way around this is: instead of trying to keep track of all the guests online that you know you cannot trust, try to keep track of the online guests you play with who do not cheat and are not complete newbs. I only recently began doing this, and i must say, it is much easier and more effective than trying to keep out the cheating guests who constantly relog to change acc names.
ridiculous..... a guest number and the player r NOT absolute..... they change each time..... u basically did the same thing twice in that situation..... if u have a problem with guest dont play them, if not just be quiet and hope for the best.
Uhhhhh.. wtf r u talking about man??? XD
Maybe you read what i said wrong? My suggestion is that you keep track of guests you play with who DO NOT CHEAT AND DO NOT SUCK--obviously this is for the time in which you are playing, not permanently. But in my experience i have tried to keep track of the guests who do cheat and in the process i kept loosing track of the guests i had played with who were good.. and you know the cheating guest will just relog once you begin excluding them, so, it is much more effective to find the guest online that night or day who you can trust and only allow those guests into games with you--kick all other guests.
I do not think it is ridiculous, as i said, it helps me a lot. (especially at nighttime here when there are often times only guests online in the lobby)
To be honest, that's basically a byproduct of lag. There have been certain times when the "speedhacking" or the "this is not www.armorgames.com" glitch was a little more prominent and pretty much happened to everyone, but when you can't see buildings that's usually a problem with your computer.
Sometimes another glitch that happens in a game that you might have had is where you can't build anything, and when you try to chat, it doesn't send the message through. Often, it gives you the "Null has left the game" message quite a few times.
My suggestion for you is to update your browser, computer, and something. Or you could just keep trying and I'm sure you'll play some normal games at one point or another.
