Todays Kalashnikov's 90'th Birthday, and he's still making guns. He's been an idol to me, and has been a great inspiration to my country, so I thought why not celebrate his Birthday on ArmorGames?
As in, he has not yet been killed from a gun malfunction.
I see, sorry about the confusion there. I read your comment wrong, and it at the time seemed as if you had said "90 years of no gun accidents" as in the world etc.
Hurray, let's celebrate the birthday of one of the people who made a type of gun. Woohoo. Why is he your idol? He just designed a gun.
The AK-47 is the grandfather of modern and none modern guns. It has set the bar high for cheep weapons that can out preform many of the more complex, newer weapons that are in use today. For example, many of the newer guns such as the M16's and whatnot, would always jam. And you'd have to keep them in decent order for them to work in the battlefield. But the AK-47, you could roll around in the mud with that, and it would still work.
That being said, it does not mean that the Ak-47 can go toe to toe with the newer weapons in range and statistics etc. But, when it comes down to old school weapons that have been tested by time and have still come out on top, there is only one..... And that is the AK-47.
God bless the AK-47. Without it, my life would be so much the poorer for never having listened to Matthew Hindson's wrist-destroying piano work by that very name.
Who wudda thought that the AK would be so popular. Just goes to show that simplicity might not be pretty, but it can blow your head off AND you governments.
I'm not sure what we should be celebrating though. He may have designed an awesome weapon, but just think, he's indirectly been responsible for the tool of mass destruction, genocide, and totalitarian revolution. Not sure if that's good.
I can understand why he is an important person in history and how big an influence he was on today's guns, but how is he a motivational figure to look up to?
