At school, i recently had a arguement with a friend about what is Athieism and what is Scientology. he is under the assumption that Athieism is when you believe in evolution, and i think it is when you believe in nothing, whom (who?) is right. is scientology the belief in evolution (i call it Darwinism sometimes, when you believe in evolution that is). am i right or is he right?

I only read some posts at start and end... so here goes my 2 bits

Russia just proves that atheist governmnets will lead to Anarchy.

This is simply not true. We went to war recently on a crusade. Going to war does not make a happy population, it makes rich richer and poor deader. So I think HUMANS lead to anarchy, with or without a religion.
I know you are arguing someone elses point so Im not making this personal.

Yeah, I kinda spoke to fast on some of those but I just didn't think it was nice for everyone to gang up on someone like that.

But that's just not how it works. God is not the center point for order in society - government is.

Enter the epic fail that is the world in 2009.

People don't worry much about the definition of atheism because its not important compared to religion.

I don't know much about Ohio's motto but the original pledge didn't have "Under God" in it. That was a later addition pretty much forced in by the Templars.

Oh, so we have Under God in our pledge?
However, in our constitution the First Amendment clears that up. We are not a religious country, but yes, we are affected by religion just as we are affected by everyone else.
So the Pilgrims moved here because of religion. That does not mean we are a religious country.
Ohio's Motto? Yeah, it's on the dollar bill and coin too. So? That doesn't mean that those states are controlled by religion.
And why are you posting this in this thread anyway? You know this thread is fail now, and that has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with the OP.

Spell check please, that was attrocious. The religion part of the pledge of allegiance is from the time when either you were religious or you were hunted down by angry christians and burned at the stake. The pledge of allegiance symbolizes a regard to higher things than ourselves, and something to keep and aspire to.

Not quite, the words "Under God" were added in 1954.

a belief in atheism is a belief in only science, not having anything to do with religion, Scientology is the study and process of science. There are scientists with a faith, -- not Atheists.
There are scientists without a faith, -- Probably Atheists :P

I'm a scientist with faith. I'm a Christian. Yet I accept evolution as scientific fact. LOLWUT, you might say.

Scientology is an evil cult that must be done away with. They brainwash and bully their members into heinous acts, a list of which acts would take far more space than I am allotted here. A very abbreviated list contains acts such as extortion, murder or mass cover-ups of said murder, child labor, and forced abortions. The members of the so-called "Church" believe that they or their families will be punished by the "Church" if they do not comply. They cause members who quit to go insane until they commit suicide, if they don't flat-out murder them. They use strong-arm psychological techniques, known as "auditing", to keep people convinced that the "Church" has their best interests at heart while blindly following everything that is stated. People who are injured or ill are not allowed to be taken to hospitals that aren't run by "Church" doctors.
