You've probably heard this a million times, but if you were to die today, where do you think you would go?

Don't blow up on me like a suicide bomber with a cigarette. I just want to know where Atheists think they're going.

I wanna ask you atheists why we are here then if we have no real purpose?

You only need a purpose if something intentionally created you.

Exactly why would we be here then? What created us?

Who created the creator? Why even add a creator, an unnecessary layer in your origin stories, instead of saying he always existed it would be simpler and just as credible to say we always existed.

so for all the athiest out there, do you think that just God isnt real or that there is no devine being at all?

I don't believe in any divine being, creator, or divine anything.

Why are animals here, if they serve no purpose?

Because Jehovah saw fit to make them. And it was good. And for us to have dominion over them. Food and clothing are always nice, as well as your pet fluffy whatever it may be.

I'm Atheist, but I'm also a Buddhist and I believe in reincarnation.

Sounds to me like you are an atheistic, buddhist, hindu.

Aren't these the same thing? No, I have no belief in any kind of deity whatsoever.

same. atheism is belief in the lack thereof.

there is no heaven, no hell, no god nor gods, no spirit (other than the alcoholic one), etc.

Okay, don't call me crazy but this actually works for me:

Grab a 6-sided die. Close you eyes and say, "Jesus, if you are out there, let this die roll a 3." I guarentee that within 2 die rolls it will be a 3!

I have no idea if God will show this to Atheists, but it worked for a Christian!

Is it really that important what will happen after you die? Nobody can say what will happen. Nobody can say if there is a God or several gods or just nothing. So what's the sense of thinking about it?

We are made of cells. Our mind works on electrons and reactions. Once they stop, such as when we die, you no longer think. Simple as that.

I personally think our purpose here, is no purpose at all. But lets enjoy this accident. Enjoy it, and hell belive what you want. Life is to be enjoyed, whether your religous, Athiest, or what not. Because I honestly hoep there isn't a god, that there isn't a afterlife. It means a eternity of torment or boredom, and it sounds like our world is pathetici n a sense.

I think that there might be something even greater that has created our universe, something greater then we could ever imagine.

Thats what I persoanlyl think, no God, Allah Yaewae or any other type of "god" i na sense createdo ur world. It's probably something even more mysterious to us, complicated, but also simple. But I don't know the answers. I don
't expect anyone to. But, in short, simple, and plain, simply enjoy your life. Thats what I believe.

I won't go anywhere. Even if I am completely wrong and heaven does exist and my soul goes up there (or to hell), my body still won't go anywere. o_O

One hell of a dice throw. Metaphorically speaking.

I like this sentence right here

Because Jehovah saw fit to make them. And it was good. And for us to have dominion over them. Food and clothing are always nice, as well as your pet fluffy whatever it may be.

Either that, or that is what we as humans saw fit as to what purpose other animals are: food, clothing, and entertainment.

You want to know what concept death is? No senses and no mind. If you die, you won't know that you're dead. You can't do anything about it. You are basically a sack of muscles, bone, and flesh, with no mind or thoughts left to speak of. All remaining memories of what you cherished, hated, and believed in are forfeit and is entirely worthless in the end.

It is an interesting concept though. It technically is possible enough to say that another intelligent race created us. We are fumbling around with genes and such at such an early stage in our lives. What's to say a race a million years ahead of our "time" essentially created our first living cells, and put them there on a planet that was noted to be able to sustain life? It's a stretch, but isn't too far out of the question.

There is no need for gods to interfere with series of events that lead to life or the destruction of it. I could pull out another wall of text that I showed in an earlier thread that basically covered near every sort of question about god and life. The central theme: does god need to come in every time there is life? No. Animals do not need to have a higher power to replicate. That goes the same for the very first sexual life forms to be formed, and much later, other plants, then animals, and then us, then future animals.

I wanna ask you atheists why we are here then if we have no real purpose?

We are here because we were made. I can bring evolution into the mix if you want. It starts from the first life forms able to sexually reproduce, aaaand works all the way up to our common ancestors, aaaand works to us in the end. What our "natural" purpose is? To have a hand in essentially being a common ancestor in the near future and help create another species of life that will have similar traits to us. That's the only real purpose every one will have.

Believe what you will though. You can tell from my post what my stance is.

I just want to know where Atheists think they're going.

You can believe in an afterlife and still be an atheist. Being an atheist just means you don't believe in a deity. However not believing in a deity because there is no proof then turning around and believing in an afterlife which we also has no proof of does seem a bit hypocritical.

Personally I don't know. I do hope there is some sort of after I get to met back up with all the people I have lost that I cared about.

I wanna ask you atheists why we are here then if we have no real purpose?

Objectively the purpose of all life is to reproduce. We see this as the driving force for anything we classify as being alive. Subjectively as thinking beings we can have purposes that are each unique to the individual, that could be anything.
