Hey, after reading a few posts, I was appalled by how many people on AG shut out science for the mere fact that they don't like it. I'm not talking just about the super-religious people, I've also seen a few people who said no to science just because they could. They didn't listen or pay attention to any evidence or sources brought forward, and they did not use vocabulary correctly. They claimed something wasn't true at all and that it's impossible to figure out what happened, "B cuz i wusn't there lololololololol" They were flaming, flaming, trolling, trolling, knowledge haters. Just flat out haters. I'm tired of these people, you know? Please, share your thoughts on this.
God made man, man made Cheetos. God made Cheetos. Told you.
You explained that, not Christianity. Give me a Bible verse explaining the cheesiness of cheetos. "And unto you, Jacob, I gift the revelatory flavor of Cheetos - thou shalt not consume them recklessly!" that kind of thing.
I must disagree. You might think it irrational, but Satan does have some power, little though it be, and some of those loyal to him can perform magic. It should be noted that Christians are blessed with the gifts of the Holy spirit, as listed in 1st Corinthians 12, and should not be at all intimidated by paltry witches and wizards.
WOW...............
And sad part is, you expect people to take you seriously
Magic: Something made up to explain the not yet comprehensible Religion: Something made up to explain the not yet comprehensible Striking similarities don't you think?
Actually magic is an extraordinary power or influence seemingly from a supernatural source...oh I guess they are the same...
And so will all of religion - you can't really put all your stock into religion or science to explain everything, because they're both missing things. It's irrational to hate either one.
Thing is those in science know they don't have all the answers and seeks to find those answers. While those in religion think they know the answers and true knowledge stagnates.
Believing in science does not mean that you can't believe in god. There is no reason to fear science. Look how many scientists contributed to Christian theology or religious thinking.
It was a valid point though. Everything claimed about millions of years ago is just fairy tales constructed from the little data we have.
So it's a valid point because something with which we do have (and you sold it quite short) considerable evidence for is not a better explanation then something we have no evidence for?
