Hey, after reading a few posts, I was appalled by how many people on AG shut out science for the mere fact that they don't like it. I'm not talking just about the super-religious people, I've also seen a few people who said no to science just because they could.
They didn't listen or pay attention to any evidence or sources brought forward, and they did not use vocabulary correctly. They claimed something wasn't true at all and that it's impossible to figure out what happened, "B cuz i wusn't there lololololololol" They were flaming, flaming, trolling, trolling, knowledge haters. Just flat out haters. I'm tired of these people, you know?
Please, share your thoughts on this.

Nonetheless magic does exist.

I'm not a huge fan of a two word reply, but in this case it suffices. Aside from this pair of sentences, that is.

Prove it.

Such as the big bang theory. It sounds like something a man said just to be remembered.

I've been wondering but what part of a scientific theory is based on facts is so hard to understand?

You know what else that sounds like? Every person who ever started a religion.

I've been wondering but what part of a scientific theory is based on facts is so hard to understand?

It's more than that even, it's the ability to REPRODUCE RESULTS. Not just the claim of some guy 2000 years ago, but something that can be done OVER and OVER and OVER again.

That's also true. But it still leaves me wondering why it's so hard for some to understand.

I dont belive in science mainly becuase of the fact im very religious.

Im quite young (12) but i know what i want in life.

And well science just isnt apart of that.

I mean, Yer the world may end in 2012,

God could of told the mayans this or something, it says in the bible that his told people stuff.

But if the worlds gonna end in 2012, let it be, it what gods wants.

I think the reason we just shut you guys down is becuase you make us doubt our beliefs.I acctully like learning about it, even if i dont believe it, I think its insecure if people i doubting there beliefs.

But that aside,

Science is probably as real as you or I. And dont think so, but who cares. Now quit crying.

That's a very pessimistic mentality to be having. I think you need to go see a psychiatrist, you express all the symptoms.

Define pessimistic.

and the reason i called it hell is because the world's full of idiots who don't use logic.

the world's full of idiots who don't use logic.

An action doesn't have to be wrong just because it is not logical. It doesn't have to be right just because it has its logic.

^true, but usually, it's people with good intentions who don't use logic that causes problems.

I don't like that all of you are implying that you can only have religion and science. Personally, I believe that religion and science support each other, religion as a means to a beginning of everything and science as a way to explain all that happening. And yes, I do consider myself Christian.

There in lies possibly the biggest problem with religion, the suppression of reason.

I acctully like learning about it, even if i dont believe it

I say the same thing about religion.

Sorry just made a typo in there i wanted to fix :P

You had a lot more typos then that. Funny thing the old testaments translation from the closest to original text we have suggest a polytheism rather then a monotheism. But that's a whole can of worms for a completely different topic.

Alright then, how do you believe the universe started? Actually, nevermind. Instead, where did the first atoms/mass come from?

The problem is they often contradict each other. You also then have to answer which religion is correct. That answer will vary depending on who you ask.
