Lately, I've been thinking about this. As it's been proven that all people come from one zygote, completely chemically/biologically, do people really have souls/spirits? I believe that God created the Earth and Adam/Eve, and gained the conclusion that they definitely had souls as God directly created them. And if they were the only ones with a soul, does that mean they were the only ones truly able to communicate with God? Another thing to add might be 'What is a soul, exactly?' or 'Do you believe that life is just more than chemicals?'
We are just a lot of chemicals mixed over millions of years to create a cell, then multiple cells, then animals, and finally humans. We do what we do because of brain cells, and only because of that do we have emotions.
The cells in our bodies go far beyond just being a chemical process. Dont the electrons and nucleus of atoms pass thru different dimensions and this action gives them mass? That might only be a theory tho!
Still I agree with Dude and I dont think souls have weight, nor do I think souls exist within our ability to detect them (for now anyway).
Actually, I don't remember where I found the study, but a man was on life support, and volunteered, as he died he was weighed, and as he died, his soul apparently left, and it actually did cause him to lose a small amount of weight.

I don't believe there are. So far there has been no evidence to point to this and nothing which even makes it a logical necessity.
I do believe that life is more than just chemicals because you cannot create conscious with chemicls. (well as far as we know anyways.)
Actually that's not true. We already know where our 'conscious thought' comes from, what areas of the brain are used, and how it has evolved in us.
As far as the whole 'weighing less' after you die, this is because in death you are expelling gasses which have a mass, and also when you die your body expels fluids as well. Also, this was a study originally popularized in 1907 and is STILL as yet unproven. Also, there are even studies which have shown people to GAIN weight after death. Kind of interesting and would definitely refute this hypothesis of 'soul weight'.
Plus your body will begin the decomposition process quite quickly after death - I should imagine that that releases fluids and gases which would lighten the body.
I don't think that everything a human does and or has the urge to do is caused by chemicals, There is something else that plays a role. I also believe in the afterlife, and well, chemicals in the brain are kinda stuck there aren't they? Unless some scientist removes them, shuddershudder.

Then I seriously suggest you take some science classes, because that is exactly what it is.
But if we are all based up on chemicals, that means once our physical body dies we die. And I am interested in science classes, particularly biology. Took both classes in that, well, the only two my school offers in biology. This year I have to take chem. Nerf. Never liked chemistry, Anyway, I don't think that when our physical body dies that we cease existence.

You kind of get the point... We ARE made of chemicals and once we die WE DIE! That is the simple fact. No soul exists. You can damage, change, and even remove neurons in the brain, disproving "souls"...So unless for some reason your soul leaves when you get hit in the head hard, there is no soul.

Sorry to say so, but it indeed is like that. There is nothing that could pursue being you, unless you find a way to separate the brain from the body and keep it alive, but, yeah...

And you still don't understand the mind, consciousness, or how thought processes in the higher animals works? Because if you did understand you wouldn't be saying you don't think it's just chemistry. Either that, or you go to a fundamentalist Christian school which doesn't teach true scientific fact.
Well that sucks. My life at the moment, sucks. I mean, why waste our time if we only have one life? Teens have to do every little thing their parents say,
