The world has just had the worst economic collapse in 100 years. I personally think that after all the shit we went though we are finally on the other side. Who agrees! P.S don't reply if you are just going to yell at me.
Historically speaking, we are doing pretty good. We have had the biggest jump in population in the last 100 years, the average standard of living has increased throughout most of the world, and more people than ever benefit from the economy than ever before. There are some economic slumps happening around the world, but nothing new.
The great depression was MUCH worse. Farmers are not plowing under their crops. Although in Europe they have dumped milk. The pillars of the economy have not fallen beyond repair but are merely shaky. All of Europe's banks have not closed simply because they could not pay back all of our banks. All of our banks have not closed. Huge public works projects are not in play the way they were back then. Yes there are some but it is not comparable. Germany doesn't owe us untold amounts of money they can never repay. Basically it is much better in comparison. If you shrink that 100 years down a mite then maybe we could get some discussion going.

Average levels of wealth have been risng, this s true, however so have levels of inequality between the rich and the poor. I'm certainly not advocating overtly egalitarian policies, but I think it is important to note that economic prosperity is certainly not benefitting most ordinary people.
Not to bad a sump, and I personaly dissagree with Obombas way of trying to get rid of it. How is giving money to the people who already have it going to help?
That had me so freaking confused until i realized that sump meant slump. Obama is the man who claims that he believes in sharing the wealth. So why doesn't he share his and get rid of that large mass of money sitting around doing nothing?
Don't be misled by Democrats who tell you the economy is getting better right now because of increased recent spending and job increases, it's simply the holiday crunch.
Also don't be fooled by Republicans who say that this is momentary chance occurence and that the economy is going to get worse again soon, because that's simple economics.
We will have optimistic numbers this quarter, and pessimistic the first quarter of next year. That's very simple economics, and it's going to be blown up hugely because we're in a large recession. People are going to try to analyze it way too much, when it's truly basic ideas.

Maybe in China and other places with strict government control, but in America almost everyone has a car, a computer, a TV (and cable), internet, and a cell phone. All of these things are expensive, and when you add in taxes, the middle class in America is doing very well.
The only reason why it's "hard" for Americans today is because it's harder to find a job, and we have to lower our living standards some. Even after lowering our living standards to compensate for the money problems we have, our living standards are still very high.
The rich may hold a large percentage of wealth, but never in history has this not been the case. NEVER
This is very true. The only reason we feel like we aren't doing well is because we don't know how to save money. We always spend, spend, spend until we have no money to work with anymore. People have to learn to control their spending impulses a little more.

Psycician, heal thyself.

Contradicted yourself there m8. ANd your view seems a little bit extremist. It would apply more to a house or car poor person, but not most US middle class workers.
What do you mean? Are you saying she's a "eople spend to much money" terrorist? She's perfectly correct, and no she did not contradict herself. Money is made to be spent, but some people do it more so than is necessary. There's no contradiction in that "m8."
