Wow, i am blown away by this movie. I saw it yesterday (12/19) in 3D. It is jaw dropping. I cannot believe how amazing the CGI looks and how good the 3D is. After a while it just seems like the 3D just "should be" there. This movie made 27million the first day, it seems it may break some records. I think it is going to take a lot of academy awards.
I saw it last night, and it was awesome! Although they could've chopped off a good two hours and lots of deaths if the natives had just yielded their land in the first place. Kinda reminded me of Sitting Bull, cept that the Native Americans lost in the real thing. Another thing; they could've come up with a less cheesy name than Unobtainium, but I guess you can't have it all. I would call it an epic movie based solely on the fact that it had Sigourney Weaver in it, but that movie was really EPIC! Definitely worth the price.
Completely EPIC movie as far as the special effects/3D/CGI goes, Best movie visually I have ever seen. But, it was just so cheesy the acting was horrible, especially with that stereotypical tough guy army sergeant dude. Also, the obvious tree hugger, liberal, save the environment message that was mixed in there.
All in all, it was just your classical cowboys and indians movie. Its worth seeing simply for the visuals, but don't go if you are looking for a good storyline and good acting.
Best movie ever. I saw it for Christmas. It's not the crappy kind of 3d that stuff flies at you, it's like an experience. It was the most expensive movie ever made, $300 million!!!!!! The last battle was great. The only thing that I didn't like was that they didn't have the sex be more, how do you say it, "awesome"
The movie was ok but nothing special. Plot wise it was more interesting than most of the movies out this year but seemed to draw heavily on past movies.
The special effects were impressive, but the plot and characters are eye wateringly cliched. I think Cameron should have consulted the Mary Sue test before he began production.
