Does anyone else own this game? If so, do you agree with me thqat it is one of the best RPGs of this year? I know it compares nothing to Baldur's Gate, but it's still a good game.
I agree with most of your points Hidden, but I think you missed out a key point.
What really grinds my gears about this game, is the way you get exp. The person who kills the enemy gets all the exp for the kill, regardless of how much damage they did to that creature. You then get a really odd party with some characters being 4/5 levels ahead of the rest of the party. They should have made it so that exp was distributed among the party in accordance with the proportion of damage you did to the enemy, not who got the last hit on them. This would make it much more enjoyable, because you're reduced to just trying to use get the last hit in, instead of playing the game normally and not having to think about it.

What? I don't have that problem. I run a party of Sten, Allistar and Zevran and all of us are level 13, meanwhile Lelina and Morrigan whom I've left back at camp for most the game are level 12.

Whoops, I forgot to add: as far as I believe, anyone back at camp levels up one level for every level the Grey Warden gains (not Allistar), so if I was level 13 every playable character at camp would be level 12.
But, I repeat, for the most part experience is fairly distributed between the party. I just asked someone what their levels were, he said he was about to gain level 13 and his entire party was at level 12, so I'm not exactly sure what you're doing wrong. Sorry!
Dragon Age is a very good game For those who didn't know, the last DLC "Return to Ostagar" got out some days ago, it allows you to get Cailan's armor. An add-on "The Awakening" will also soon get out
If you need help here is a very good walkthrough : Link

Lucky you, but for me, this problem is very real. Exp is distributed by who does the final piece of damage, meaning, naturally, mages will always be raking in the exp, in comparison to say, 2 handed weapon wielders.
Unless a patch was distributed in a copy bought shortly before Christmas, my game is not patched, so that would not be the problem. It's certainly odd, as I did ask some of my friends, and they have evenly distributed experience.
Do any of your mages specialise in healings or boosts? If you just get your mage to rack your fighters with enchantments and bonuses, they should survive long enough to get a final kill and the mage will not have inflicted a point of damage. It's tedious, and probably slow, but it's an idea.

I use Morrigan for DPS and crowd control, and Wynne for healing and bonuses. I take your point, but really I shouldn't, as a player feel the need to adjust the makeup of my party to accomodate the clear failing of the game itself. The developers should have spotted this blatant error in the design of the combat and exp distribution.
To be honest, it's not exactly blatant, as you're the only person I've met whom suffers it.
A few of my mates who have the game have also suffered from this. I think it depends on your party makeup more than anything, as mine is admittedly slightly unorthodox. Still, they should have found this out in testing. Not everyone is going to use a conventional party makeup now are they?

I do not really understand what you mean by a conventional party makeup.
It's odd that you and your friends are encountering this problem whilst my friends and I had never heard about levelling problems until you stated you were having them. O_o

Sorry, this is not a bug, but not having this is a bug I didn't express myself correctly This system is the same as in Star Wars KOTOR for example...
