Like I said earlier, I would like to judge because I would like to sit down and think about other people's artwork. I've also judged another contest, so I got experience.
Wait, Bronze, if you're asking to be for the art skills contest, then who got to be judge of the short story contest? And if you did, two contests may be too much
I don't like the idea of having the outcome of the biggest contest on the entire site being in the hands of one person.
Though it always has been? And by all that is holy, don't compare a forum contest to a TV show.
The point is, if the entire competition is based on one person's particular taste, the entries will not be as diverse and the purpose of having an art skills contest will be defeated.
Have you looked through the entirety of the ASC where there has never been more than one judge (except when Cen and me duo'd)? Have the entries not been diverse?? Even if someone figures out that a particular judge happens to like a particular thing, that doesn't mean that every contestant will try to hit close to that judge's taste.
If we need judge, I don't mind, contest every 2 weeks should suffice; once a week is too much.
It's not really too much, it just burns out the judges eventually (every two weeks possibly would too?). But it's worked as being weekly (with the occasional pause) so far. I dunno, I don't care much about whether it's each week or every two weeks myself, but... *shrug* Dunno.
I'm inclined to agree with Zophia. I'd also like to say that I'd eat my hat if a significant portion of the contestants altered their entries to appeal more to judge. I'd double eat my hat if it worked.
I don't like the idea of having the outcome of the biggest contest on the entire site being in the hands of one person.
I'd be inclined to agree if the ASC were an important, life changing contest. At worst, someone gets an undeserved merit. For AG's purposes, the convenience and utility of a single judge far out ways the possible loss of fairness.
Well I THINK what's going down is...from what Zophia inferred to last night, I'm going to judge the ASC contest this week (when it get's entries -.-) which will determine if I am a serious canadite for the judge.
I may have misspoken or you have misunderstood - I meant that you could do an unofficial judging of a round (logically the most recent one) to prove your abilities of judging. Anyone should feel free to do so, since it's one of the only ways to show off if you're any good as a judge.
THINK about it people, it's not something you do a couple times and get bored with, if you've seen the judges judge you know there is a lot of work involved especially thinking of new themes for the contest.
It's a big contest, much more popular and awesome than my little "Draw that Fakemon" contest. This results into a huge amount of responsibility. I'm not entirely sure if people will like me in that spot, but I think judging is fun most of the time. I'm also a little experienced in this kind of thing. Like Cenere said, I have a way of getting angry, and that is NOT good for a judge at all. That's a big downer.
I doubt people will be happy with my style of judging. I don't draw good myself, and it feels weird judging other people's art that's better than mine. It's not easy giving them examples on how to improve.
At the same time, I have LOADS of free time. Instead of having a whole buncha' homework, I'm in school a little longer. That's a plus, I have time to judge.
Anywho, I would like to give it a try.

Yeah, I've got my ups and downs, but I don't think I have what it takes. I think Bronze would be the better choice, but I can't decide.
As a special person beginning with "Kir" and ending with "by" said;

I think I'm good on thinking of new themes and such, and I never can get bored of judging... I think.
Judging two different contests shouldn't be too much of a problem... I'm only thirteen so I highly doubt you're going to choose me. But if Bronze is unable to judge a round or two, I'm always here to back up.
There are no one permanently, it seems, which is why it is an issue. If no one comes forth, I will leave it locked, and another similar contest might take its place when someone find the time to judge it.
